Dior: The Legendary Images: Great Photographers and Dior

Beautiful, tastefully done and a nice size. The earlier photos show an age of elegance. It is portable, in contrast to many of the new fashion books which are huge and weigh a ton. Because of the navy cover, a man would probably not mind having it around (i.e. it is not too feminine or frilly). This book would make a lovely gift. Consider it as a birthday gift or house present.

DIOR WAS DESIGNING JUST AS A GROUP OF PHOTOGRAPHERS WERE CHANGING FASHION PHOTOGRAPHS IN MORE NATURAL SETTINGS AND TO SHOW MOVEMENT AND DIOR WAS AT THE FOR FRONT HIRING THESE PHOTOGRAPHERS ! IT IS A WONDERFUL BOOK FOR MANY REASONS.

I have always loved Dior's designs. I would like to a full collection of his career.

Great photos - great book.

This is a tiny book, not even a half inch thick. The photos the author selected were strange selections. There are very few excellent vintage photos. Much of the book is a waste of paper. Literally. An example, on page 30, 42, 46, 60, 68, 71, and 72 (and continuous throughout) the pages are stark white, some, with tiny writing. What a waste! I thought this book would be packed with photos. You can find heck of a lot more for free on Pinterest. Some models selected had hairy legs in high heels; it was then I realized I was looking at a man. Dior celebrated the woman and her feminity. There is a two page waste on Rob Patterson in a white T shirt and jeans, looking down, so the viewer can't even see his face or outfit. This is a legendary photograph? I expected more, more photos, more close up's, and more copy on the description of the outfits and images. I feel this was a cheap book in every way. Even the photo on the front of the cover isn't printed, it's glued paper. I have other Dior books that captivated me with its photos. This one, unfortunately, was like sitting through a meal without any seasoning. It is bland, boring, and quite frankly, an insult to the Original - Dior himself.

Beautiful photography but the size of the book does not do it justice. Still, a nice book to have because of the collection captured in the book.
