Exactly the right tool for the job of running a 11-42 cassette on a new shimano 10 speed deraileur.
I wanted to upgrade my 9 speed shimano to a 10 speed with a 11-42 cassette. This device is exactly the perfect tool for it. You can't fit larger than a 34 cog on a stock shimano. Well, technically you might be able to get a 40 on there if you extend the b-screw a bit but then you have an overtensioned deraileur running at a funny angle and wearing your cogs. This is the right solution. No need to crank the b-screw it. This item works with modern Shimano derailures that have a removable linkage from the deraileur to the dropout mount. I note that my ten year old Shimano 9 speed derailure did not have this removable linkage and so would not have worked for this, but the new 10 speed shimano I bough for this project did have this removable link. You just screw the stock link off and screw this one on. that's all there is to it.By the way:I debated whether to use a medium cage or a long cage and in the end decided on a long cage because the medium cage is just a bit too close to it's maximum tolerance for an 11-42, and thus requires getting the chain size just right. Here's the specs from 2016 shimano data sheet for mountain bike deraileurs.SS - Short Cage Road Double - Maximum Cassette Cog is 27 and Total Capacity is 29GS - Medium Cage MTB/Road Triple - Maximum Cassette Cog is 34(MTB)/27(Road) and Total Capacity is 33(MTB)/37(Road)SGS - Long MTB - Maximum Cassette Cog is 34 and Total Capacity is 45capacity is the sum of the differences of the smallest and largest cogs front and back. You can still run with a system exceeding the capacity but it will lock up if you cross shift it. I used to to that to get more chain tension but stopped because it's just to easy to crossshift it by accident and the new shadow deraileurs provide extra tension.

Great product, does what's needed.
I converted my bike to a 1x and a 10 spd 11-42 cassette and while I could of adjusted the b-screw slightly I opted (at time of purchase) to also get the Goatlink just in-case, which is only slightly longer then the stock Shimano Direct Mount that was on my derailleur (Shimano XT Shadow, Long Cage) but the good news is I didn't even need to touch the B-Screw or anything else, basically just plug n play, first try all gears shifted fine and no adjustments needed, plus I assume chain wrap is better with this then the b-screw method.Pros-Made in USA-Aluminum (unsure if its 6061 or 7071), - their website says its 7071, but the product info shows 6061------Better chain-wrap-Easy install.Neutral-The amazon picture shows a model with a silver pin going through it, the one I received has a metal tab instead (which is shown on the WT website)-The Wolf-tooth website advertises it as 7071-T6 aluminum, but product info cutout says CNC 6061, for this price I feel it should be the best material (7071), what is correct?, I assume they did a revision at some point removed the metal pin and downgrade the metal for cost savings.Cons-Price, as with most bike components they are overpriced, and also being made in the USA comes at a cost.-Cannot get a hold of wolf-tooth support, I tried emailing them a question (about pin and metal type, and if it was possible this would work with a 11-46 10 spd cassette) but I was just ignored. :(

:)
I somehow managed to bend and break the stock one that came on my bike. Tracked this little thing down, did the exact same thing to the bike and this head up. Plus a bunch of told people told me I needed a whole new derailleur hanger and I thought they were dumb. And they were. So this is a great product!

Great looking
Great looking component great name behind it but there just aren't any defined directions on how it should be installed, even bike shops aren't sure.

Worked as expected
Fit perfectly, helped me achieve using an 11x42 rear cassette on my 11 speed gravel bike with a 2x up front. Works flawlessly.

The GOAT!!!
Without this link, I would have had to buy this part from Shimano: Y5ZH98010 which is a Rear Derailleur Bracket Axle Unit. It's cheaper but usually out of stock everywhere and with shipping costs more than this. This solved my problem for mounting a Direct Mount Shimano M6000-SGS derailleur onto my Standard Mount frame!

11 speed instead of 10 speed
Description indicated this link was for the 10 speed but received an 11 speed. I was still able to make it work with modifications.
