CS0121 Air Conditioning Compressor

2000 GMC Sonoma 4.3L V6, works perfect! Great OEM quality. It comes pre oiled, but follow oiling instructions that come with compressor. Back to blowing ice cold! However, be aware that on the Sonoma and S10 you will need to remove the snap ring and plug from the back of this new compressor and install a pressure switch in it's place. You can either take it out of the old compressor you just uninstalled or buy a new one. I personally went down to the local parts store and just bought a new one for like $20 bucks instead of reusing the old one. And if you're replacing the compressor, don't forget to change (at minimum) the orifice tube and accumulator. (Some pictures of the old compressor and old pressure switch to show location of the plug that needs to be removed in order to install pressure switch) Good luck with your installs!

Fits and works perfect

I chose this rating because the product fulfills its purpose. The part is a direct replacement for the stock Delphi compressor that comes on these trucks (as advertised). There were other options for a replacement such as other brands that were cheaper but in my experience, I would recommend replacement parts from the same manufacturer (in this case, Delphi). I have had this product on my truck for about three months so it is very new. One thing i would recommend for anyone doing a replacement like this by themselves, do your homework on a/c systems. One cannot simply change out the compressor and go buy a can of air from autozone and charge it up, it isn't that simple. The system must be evacuated and a vacuum must be placed on the system and recharged with refrigerant correctly. Also it is recommended to change the orifice tube, which allows refrigerant to flow at a constant rate and has no moving parts, but it can become clogged with debris over time.

I Just install yesterday this compressor and works PERFECT with an amazing 20% price coupon . After one month or so , I will post the performance of this compressor . The only issue was to install the old mounting bolt in to the new compressor . It was very -very tricky and tough . I suggest a new bolt any time for parts like this . This compressor is using PAG 150 and the Delphi customer service is one of the best out there to help you with any question .

Pretty much a similar experience to the previous reviewer. I received my first one in October 2011. It had a loud knocking/clicking noise when the AC was turned on (it went away when AC was turned off). Returned it and received a replacement in November...same problem. It seemed like someone at the factory was using a torque wrench or something to fasten it down. Once again, returned it. Received replacement in December... 3rd times a charm right?...Wrong. I seriously have no idea how there is not class action lawsuits against companies like this. They may only have to replace a part, but we (the customers) have to pay a mechanic EACH time for the freon to be vacuumed and replaced, and the part(s) to be uninstalled reinstalled...and I guess our own time is worth nothing either? To top it all off, I finally contacted Delphi after not be able to deal with the horrid noises any longer, because I knew that the part is now well beyond Amazon's return window. Deplhi basically just replied with a blow-off email saying that I needed to deal with Amazon for warranty...wow. I understand that stores have return policies, but since when does a company lay the burden of warranty service on the retailer? That's sad. Anyway, I contacted Amazon, and thankfully they were kind enough to issue me a refund after all this time because of all the headaches I had to go through. So big kudos to Amazon. This is why I will continue to make this the first stop for items I'm shopping for.

Bought this to replace the failed compressor on my 2001 4.3L GMC Sonoma. It was an exact OE replacement that matched perfectly and has worked great for me for over 9 months now. Keep in mind that there is an overheat switch in the back that must be either transferred from the old compressor using snap ring pliers. Or you can buy a new one from the parts store. Just make sure you do this because the compressor will not engage without it.

This fit my 2000 S10 and works great. Cool deal.

I order the part and the day it arrived my old one failed so it was urgently needed. My mechanic quoted me higher prices for a new one and rebuilt is not an option for me. With amazon prime free shipping, it made the order worthwhile.
