One of the photos on the details shows 2 pictures hung one above the other. How is this done?

The wire cable will pass through the top grip on each side of the top picture and the cable supplied is long enough to to do the same with a lower picture thus suspending one beneath the other. I did hanging them from a picture rail

How do you remove the metal rail molding hook to use the traditional rail hook?... this doesnt seem possible, the hook is just hanging off!!!

We just cut it off with wire cutters.

I want to hang 4 canvas pics side by, would two of these kits do that?

You can`t add more hooks because a small screw is soldered to the bottom of the wire. This is indeed a design limitation.
