If I buy in bulk (3 bags) why do I pay for the shipping cost x3? That seems an excessive charge for shipping.

We do not charge shipping so I am not sure what you mean. Other sellers may do so, but we do not for buyers in the USA (street address only).

The listing says annise drops, but the photo shows the violet mints. which is this listing for ? annise or violet ?

The simple answers is that whether you call them, drops or mints it doesn't matter because its the same thing. Violet Abbaye De Flavigny are small white pea sized candies. I have been Violet Abbaye De Flavigny Mint/Anise Drops since 1973 and I love them!

How many are in one bag?

They are sold by weight, not by each pastille. I doubt that anyone has counted them.

Is it certified kosher?

There is no kosher certification on it but there ingredients are sugar, natural flavoring, aniseed, and violet extract.
