I have a Kai Seki Magoroku knife and it didn't come with a sheath/saya and the store I bought it from also doesnt sell any so i decided to take a risk and purchase this in hopes it would work. I'm happy to say it does work for Non-Yoshiro knives as well. It doesnt fit super snug and in fact its pretty loose, but it does its job in keeping my edge inside the the pin secures it just fine.

This is an absolutely amazing saya for my hand made yanagiba. Other than needing to seal and finish the raw wood... It's very nice.Mine originally came without a pin to hold the knife in the saya and Amazon contacted them. 5 days later I have a pin directly from the manufacture. Great product.

The wood material is not bad, but a small defect on the wood is really hard to be satisfactory. The seller should ensure quality control instead of selling products that are known to have defects as commodities.

This Saya does not fit the Shun Pro Yanagi due to the western style of forging. Any knife with an integrated bolster will most likely not fit this Saya without some adjustments. This Saya is only for knives with traditional Japanese wa-handles. If you have any questions if your knife will fit this Saya, you should contact Yoshihiro through their email and they can help you out. They matched a Saya for me.

The cover works wonderfully. It looks great, and it holds securely with the peg. Definitely worth the investment to keep my knives sharp and stored safely.
