This is the perfect "commuter pack". Perfect size/fit for all compact electronic accessories, as well as those few extra items - magazines, files, lunch, etc. - that you'll need over the course of a day. If you like a multitude of pockets in your backpack, the Legend delivers here too, with two lower, two upper, and two side pockets (as well as the main carrying space, of course). Larger lower pocket has a zippered sub-folder inside as well; great for stashing stuff you absolutely can't lose. Not sure if you can use this as an "overnight bag" as folders within main compartment take up a lot of space; maybe if you are going to be wearing the same shoes & jeans the next day... Pack is sturdy and can take a beating (as I am dropping it on buses, subways, and office floors constantly, while yanking it up from the straps); and it rides better on my shoulders/ back than backpacks costing twice the money, with fantastic weight distribution. So why does it lose a half a star? A few small quibbles: -two lower pockets only have one zipper; if your items shift while in transit, they can fall out upon opening the pocket... -side pockets can barely fit in the standard 16.9 inch water bottle. I mean, it does fit, but the compartment must be stretched/fitted around it. I think you could have made this 1/2 an inch bigger and still kept this a compact bag... -top pocket - the "sunglass" pocket as some people call it - also needs another 1/2 inch to hold today's glasses (and wallets). Again, as this pockets falls into the main compartment, an extra 1/2 inch would have made a big difference without compromising the compact design. Nevertheless - a great bag, and one I would recommend / buy again!

I generally despise positive Amazon reviews that rave on a product to the point that you are left wondering if the reviewer has a vested interest in the product. This product, however, is definitely superb in both form and function, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a durable bag. I work in a petrochemical refinery, and needed a rugged, multi-pocketed backpack capable carrying PPE, LOTO locks, personal effects and permitting & inspection paperwork. I honestly could not have been more satisfied with this backpack. The bag is well made and tightly stitched. The multiple pockets are large and useful, as opposed to most manufacturers who sacrifice pocket size and usability to increase the number of pockets and pouches. It is not water proof, but thick enough to get you through light to moderate rain. The padded laptop storage area is very well made and protective, and it leaves plenty of room in the main compartment to carry numerous folders and small binders. It will comfortably fit legal size(8x14) file folders and papers without a problem. I've had the backpack for three months now, and it shows no signs of fraying or tearing. I know that in most environments, three months does not seem like a long time, but I literally carry this bag 8-10 hours a day, through an oil refinery, to multiple job sites and up and down multiple scaffoldings and ladder wells. If it last me a year, I would be very satisfied and feel as though I had definitely gotten my money's worth. So far, it seems as though it will last longer than that. I honestly think this backpack is the best buy available if you're looking for a good, durable, everyday carry bag.

In my opinion, this is one of the best values you can get in a daily carry bag for a 15.6 laptop. I purchased this bag as a replacement for the Targus IQ Legend I carried to and from the office for 7 years. My original bag was like the one pictured on the Amazon page (up top), but the new one I received is a different (updated) design. Given the choice, I liked the old design better, but this is still a nice bag. I purchased my original IQ Legend from Amazon, too. It had the same model number as this new design. I would not necessarily recommend this as a travel bag, unless you are using it for day trips, as the laptop compartment is integrated in the main compartment of the bag and separated by a padded divider/sleeve. Here are the major changes I have seen from the original design: The Positive - The compartments on the front of the bag are a bit larger than the original and better organized. In addition, a zippered passport (or phone, wallet, etc.) pocket has replaced the original open pocket on the very front of the bag, which was basically useless. Finally, the phone/music player with the earphone jack compartment is now accessible without opening the main compartment. It has its own zippered pocket located on the top of the bag behind the main compartment. It has much more room than the original. I use it to store my sunglasses and can fit can fit my sunglasses and a spare pair of my regular glasses in the pocket. The Negative - The main compartment of the new bag is a bit smaller than the original design, which is my biggest gripe. Previously, I had plenty of room to pack my laptop, laptop brick, power cords, a notebook (the writing kind), a couple of bottles of water, and my lunch with a little room to spare. Now, it is a much tighter tight fit - to the point that I can feel the difference thru the bag when it is on my back. That being said, I am happy with this bag and will continue to carry it. If it has the staying power of the original, I will be retired before I need another one.

I needed a backpack for my job. I work in the environmental field and use this backpack instead of a briefcase. I did not need a huge pack nor did I want a heavy duty Special Forces ballistic backpack...even though they do look cool. On the other hand I definitely did not want to waste money on a cheap pack that quickly fell apart at the seams and zippers. So far this backpack has worked perfectly. The build quality is very good. The zippers work smoothly and never bind or jam. There are enough pockets for my purposes. Internally there is a nice velvety pocket for a laptop or tablet. This pocket helps protect the device from abrasions. The soft fabric liner makes slipping the device in and out of the pocket easy. I have another bag that does not have a fabric liner. Devices constantly bind and jerk when you need to get at them. It sounds trivial but when you do it all day long it becomes "a thing" to deal with. The soft pocket makes the task like "Ahhh...I love the silky feeling." There is also a small fabric pocket for a phone or music player. Quite nice if you need quick access to small items. The Targus backpack so far has been quite resistant to physical abrasion from being tossed from car to floor to truck to office and so on. The bottom of the pack shows no signs of wear or degradation. One note. I do not wear this pack. I carry it like a briefcase or sling it over my shoulder. Overall I am completely satisfied with this backpack.

I like targus backpacks because I believe they are well made. I have had a few. They usually last for a few years and I use them every day. This I think is one of the best. It is made out of a thicker material. The carry handle is thick and durable. The straps are thick and padded and durable. The zippers are probably the best I've ever seen on anything with zippers. They open very smoothly, they are the best I have ever seen, and don't feel like they will separate easily. The zipper grabs are full metal so they arent going to rip or come off easily. They do make a sound when moving like change or when walking which is a little annoying, but a small tradeoff for higher quality. The bag itself has all kinds of good and even secret like little pockets. It also has a built in headphone jack with cord inside with an ipod pocket. It doesn't fit my note 3 but would easily fit smaller phones or other devices. Overall it feels a little smaller than other bags I have gotten but those may have been for 17 inch laptops not 16 so it may not be an equal comparison. I may get one for each of my kids because they are rough on bags and kids bags are never durable. I can't recommend it enough. My last bag was a gift of a 31 bag. The grab handle ripped off the first time I lifted it. The fabric zipper grabs pulled off and finally it split a seam. I used it for only a couple months. Then I got this. SO MUCH BETTER.

As others have said- the padding is a bit light, but this also means it is very lightweight, and small for what it can hold. There are backpacks with a lot more padding- but they are much bulkier and I wanted something lightweight and as small as practical. I'm using this to replace an old messenger-style bag for commuting and business travel. The notebook pocket easily holds a 15" MacBook Pro, even in a sleeve case. I have an older 17" HP laptop that "almost" fits, so I think their 16" description is a good one. The tablet/eReader pocket is very generously sized (huge). It is actually large enough that a 13" MacBook Pro or Air will fit in it, so it should fit any size of tablet or netbook. It also has a very soft lining on one side that I can see would be very gentle on a screen. I do have to acknowledge the warning of another reviewer- if your tablet or eReader doesn't have a cover- I would be very careful what else I pack in the main compartment. The pocket itself doesn't offer a lot of protection from its contents beyond the soft-fuzzy lining. I wouldn't drop this on the ground or throw it around- the laptop and tablet compartments have minimal padding, but it seems perfect as a lightweight travel bag. It has a lot of space inside for files, books, or clothes, besides the laptop and tablet pockets, and has many other pockets for organizing chargers, accessories, and travel needs. The built-in headphone jack is a nice touch, although I honestly don't see using it all that much. It is only a 3-conductor stereo cable/jack, so there is no way to control your device through it. I think they could improve this greatly by using a 4-conductor cable/plugs at minimal extra cost. Despite it's minor down-sides- I love this backpack.

I bought this Targus backpack expecting the reliability the brand was once known for. For many years, Targus was a reference when it came to laptop bags and backpacks, especially for daily professional use. Unfortunately, this product did not meet those expectations. With less than six months of normal, careful use, the shoulder strap fabric started to tear near the stitching. This was not due to overloading, misuse, or abnormal conditions. The backpack was used only to carry a laptop and basic daily items. Functionally, the design is acceptable, and the layout is fine, but the material quality and stitching are clearly below what I would expect from a brand with Targus’ history. Today, it feels no different from a generic backpack, and the durability is disappointing. This is a polite but honest assessment. I hope Targus revisits its quality standards, because based on this experience, I cannot recommend this backpack for long-term or professional use.

I ordered this backpack to use as a work bag, and I am really happy with my choice. It works great; the laptop pouch is perfect and fits my computer even in a sleeve. I don't use an iPad, but the built-in sleeve for that is a great idea. The pouch is also big enough to store a couple of folders as well as my lunch bag, so there's plenty of room. I like the front pouches; they are pretty versatile. The side pockets aren't big enough or designed to really hold a water bottle, which is a bummer. However, there are clips on the straps, and I just use a D-ring to clip my water bottle to the strap. The headphone jack doesn't seem to work all that well, unfortunately, although I haven't had much use for it. The bag seems to be pretty durable, too. I haven't noticed any wear and tear, and it's held up pretty well now.

Excellent backpack. Strong thick material. Good seems. Strong zippers. No bad sewing or flaws could be found. Comfortable to wear, snug fitting, straps comfortable. It does hang a bit low on the back. Which means it stays put and is secure. It medium thick, which is what I wanted, and holds all my gear, coat, books, tech. Lots of pockets, and dividers in main pocket. The padded and lined laptop pocket is raised a bit, so it doesn't hit the bottom of the pack. Good design. I haven't tried the in-design audio plug. I use wireless headphones. I am throughly please with my new daily comuter backpack. It's been abused and is holding its shape perfectly.

Excelente. La acabo de recibir y me ha parecido fabulosa. No le encuentro pero ni al diseño ni a los materiales. Todo de muy buena calidad y excelentes acabados. La lona es resistente, solo habrá que ver como se comporta con el tiempo. Es relativamente compacta en profundidad pero le cabe lo necesario sin hacer mucho bulto. Muchas bolsas pequeñas para guardar todo lo que se necesite. La conseguí en $600 pesos mexicanos. Excelente precio.

Cumple con lo básico: protege el portátil, organiza lo esencial y resiste el uso diario. Pero no va más allá. Pros: • Buena capacidad. • Compartimentos bien pensados. • Resistente para uso diario. Contras: • Diseño muy genérico. • Materiales correctos, pero sin sensación premium. • No destaca frente a la competencia. Conclusión: Una mochila práctica, pero olvidable. Cumple, no enamora.

Zaino semplicemente spettacolare. Non è molto grande ma capiente, buona fattura, rifinito molto bene, bello da vedere!!! Ergonomico, portato sulle spalle aderisce bene alla schiena, molto comodo!!! Rispecchia tutte le mie esigenze : (uso questo zaino tutti i giorni per andare al lavoro) 1. Cinque tasche esterne con chiusura a zip. ( per avere a portata di mano oggetti che uso frequentemente: in particolare la tasca anteriore grande in basso è dotata di un gancetto per le chiavi, piccole taschine a rete e no, una tasca con zip,) 2. Nella parte alta dello zaino, vicino la maniglia troverete un allogamento per gli occhiali , un po piccolo, ma i miei occhiali da vista ci stanno comodamente ( senza custodia). 3. Al interno trovi una piccola tasca per MP3 e un comodo cavetto al quale potete collegare i vostri dispositivi di riproduzione. Sulla bretella troverete connettore per le cuffie. Altra bretella è dotata di un anello elastico dove posiamo infilare gli occhiali da sole. 4. Tre scomparti interni. Abbastanza ampi ma il zaino e profondo e perciò si riesce infilare tante cose. Consiglio vivamente questo zaino a chi come me ha bisogno di un zaino da usare tutti i giorni, comodo da portare, non grande ma abbastanza capiente, elegante e nello stesso tempo sportivo! Bello, bello, bello - è stato un ottimo acquisto!!!! Spedizione rapidissima prima dei tempi stabiliti dal venditore!
