Cris Tales (NSW) - Nintendo Switch

This game is really innovative with the time gameplay. This was the first game I've bought in years that I didn't research. I wasn't disappointed. This is a great game. Plus a lot of voice over in game not just in cut scenes. The art style is nice too, it's looks like paper layer art.

I've just started but I've at least played the demo and I love this game. It's creative and the art is SO BEAUTIFUL TO LOOK AT. The gameplay is captivating, I love whenever I get to time skip!

The story is charming and there's an interesting play of cause and effect, although I don't think the battle mechanics really use that to its potential aside from a handful of key battl3s. The artwork is absolutely gorgeous if a little static. It is refreshing to have a nice 25 hour JRPG and be done with it.That said, it has its issues. The loading times are atrocious and happen for EVERY RANDOM BATTLE and kind of kill the flow of story events. There is a somewhat small world that you double back over. Battles and enemies get repetitive and there are points where you have to grind to stand a chance to move the story along. So sometimes it feels "old school" in the wrong ways.I still found it worthwhile, but your tolerance of the flaws may vary.

El juego siendo un desarrollo occidental a cumplido con lo que se espera de un RPG con una marcada inspiración japonesa, un arte cuidado que logra conservar parte de la identidad Colombiana y a la vez transmitir la sensación de ser un cuento de fantasía, bonitas animaciones, una historia sin pretensiones pero satisfactoria, la música amena y justa con algún que otro ritmo que se quedara en tu mente, una gran compra para este 2021. El envió llegó antes del tiempo esperado junto al conocido libro de Ask Iwata así que todo bien en ese sentido.

Awesome art and story for an RPG

This game came with a lot of game breaking bugs, specially with the switch version, playing this game its not fun, and not a good experience.

Cris Tales is what it promises to be, a love letter to classic JRPGs. The turn based combat borrows from Final Fantasy X with a turn timeline to show what’s coming up, to plan appropriately. RTB commands a-la Super Mario RPG are used to increase damage caused and mitigate damage received. The main gimmick is in time manipulation however, controlled by the protagonist to send foes forward or backwards in time. Combining this with party members status effects lead to Yu-Gi-Oh Time Mage style Shennanigans like clobbering your enemy with several turns of poison damage all at once, or making their equipment rust away after dousing them in water. Sending them backwards often makes them weaker as younger versions of themselves, but you can set similar traps in the past and then yank them back to the present to trigger them.Gimmicks aside the difficulty level is high for a modern RPG, it’s very easy to get beat if you don’t pay attention. Your time manipulation is just as likely to strengthen foes as hurt them, so careful use of your powers is required.The most charming part of this game is in its art. Everything in the game is hand drawn and vivid, with beautifully composed music. The game is a true feast for the eyes.Criticisms: the Switch version struggles to keep up with the demands of the software, load times are longer and more frequent.The crystal split screen sections can be a little disorienting, it would be nice if you could hide the future or past or both to make it easier to focus on the portion you are interested in.As previously mentioned, difficulty is high off the bat, which may discourage some players.In a season of remakes and remasters, Cris Tales is a delightful new IP that oozes charm, a definite must play on any platform.
