An excellent book on linear Algebra
I teach at a public university and hold a Ph.D. in economics. I bought this book for my son, who is a senior in high school and took an online course in linear algebra during the summer. So I did not work through the entire book, but I read some chapters out of interest. This book offers an excellent introduction to linear algebra. It is suitable for both advanced high school students and college students in their first semesters. The explanations are clear. Numerous practice questions help students understand the material.

Good resource for linear algebra and matrices.
This book was required for my Matrices class and it's a great resource for extra problems and examples. I found myself going back to this book and the sections, reviewing the material before quizzes and exams. I will say that I wish it gave more examples along with the sections, but it does the job regardless. The sections may be out of order, depending on the curriculum as it was for me. The back of the book has some solutions to the hw problems, but you should be able to find them online with other *extra* resources. Definitely a better buy (rental) versus my university's book store. The difference in rental pricing was huge!

Great quality and fast :)
Very happy with what I got! Affordable price for a great quality used book. Only reason you can tell it’s used is because the hardcover looks used. Has units 1-8.

The text does a good job of explaining most of the concepts clearly
The text does a good job of explaining most of the concepts clearly, but some of the proofs are very bare, and sometimes I'm left wondering WHY something works. Also, the problems are standard, but nothing in there that will help you handle the curveballs on a college exam.

Dirty and polluted
I can't believe this is a new book, so dirty and polluted

Arrived in Great Conditions!
I am completely satisfied with how the book arrived in a lot better conditions than I had expected. The text was practically brand new upon opening it. It only had a bit of wear on the outside, but still 100% useful and legible! c

If you are new to linear algebra and/or interested in it and its applications...start here...!
I am currently working my way through this book and for my purposes find it to be excellent. Theorems are proved directly and/or in a problem environment. However, these proofs are not as rigorous as one would find in upper level math books. If you are new to the subject but comfortable with high school and or freshman level algebra, this book is very helpful and practical.

Tread Warily
I bought this book to learn linear algebra after trying another book that was indecipherable. This book makes a better presentation than the previous one but still leaves much to be desired. The author likes to present important points ( theorems ) in the language of mathematical logic. This is not helpful to the student. I am left not understanding what the author is talking about. The examples and problems usually clarify the theorems, but one is left with a chicken or the egg type of dilemma. One needs the theorems to work the problems yet one needs to work the problems to clarify the theorems. The author also presents problems in the language of mathematical logic. The answer book is definitely needed to figure out what the question is asking, i.e. one can work backwards from the answer. Not an easy book to learn linear algebra from but better than what I had. I may try another book to see if there is a math professor who still knows how to teach this subject.
