Inspired
I adored Joelle Hoverson's first book and had hoped she'd do another.... The first noticeable thing about the book is the photography - it's beautiful! Well worth the price of the book as a "coffee-table" knitting book. Props to Anna Williams. She organized the chapters by the typical length of time it would take to complete a project: less than two hour gifts, 2-4 hours, 4-6 and onward. For gifts, this is perfect, nothing worse that thinking a a gift will take 2 hours only to find yourself on the clock for 4 hours and only half way through (sometimes project length is deceptive). Plus a chapter on simple, but clever gift wrapping ideas using yarn. And there are a few pages dedicated to specific stitches & finishing techniques- note there is not a "basics section"- you'll have to pick up knitting basics elsewhere.Hoverson stretches the gammet of projects - baby & adult socks, cowls, sweaters, vests, accessories, wrist warmers, blanket, scarves... pretty much your basic fair. The book is steeped in classics - nothing I would call trendy. A few projects stand out as "knock your (knitted) socks off"-- pointy elf hat (from the cover), the knitted house, cowl and beret.I will admit, these are my first impressions. I am simply noting the look of the book and the projects offered. The true test of a knitting book is the quality & detail of the patterns. I will soon update with impressions of working the patterns. Any way you look at it, this is a beautiful addition to your knitting library.

Review of the Kindle Edition
I just bought a Kindle Fire and this is the first knitting ebook I've ever purchased. I have to say I love it. The photography is just beautiful on the Fire and it's so nice to read all about the patterns without holding a big book. To print out the patterns, all you have to do is open the book in Kindle for PC, copy and paste them into Word, print them out and you are ready to knit.As for the patterns, they are just as nice as in the first Last Minute Knitted Gifts, which I use all the time. There are your typical small items such as hats, scarves and fingerless gloves. Then there are some more unusual patterns such as a knitted basket in 3 sizes. I've wanted a pattern for knitted baskets that are not felted for years and this is exactly what I've been looking for. Another pattern I've always wanted is knitted Christmas ball ornaments and this book includes one with two design variations. There is also a really pretty knitted bracelet, some double knit coasters, a sachet and a cozy for coffee cups. The more time consuming patterns include baby clothes and blankets, a nice zippered men's vest, a beautiful woman's cardigan and an easy pullover. Like the first book, the patterns are all categorized by the time it takes to make them.Whether you buy this book in the Kindle edition or as an actual book, I'm sure you'll find it a very useful book to have in your knitting library.

Beautiful photos and patterns, timing true as well.
The photos are beautiful, the explanations are well written. I've made the little sweater, and it was true to the pattern. She divides each project inot chapters based on how long they take to make, the timing was relatively true as well...

Charming book of knitted gifts
Recommended for knitters (the book itself is also a great gift.)This is a knitting book that is a joy to own. It's beautifully bound and full of gorgeous photos - let's face it, we definitely want great patterns but we also want a tribute to the art of knitting. This book delivers on both counts!I'm looking forward to knitting the Big Lace Scarf and the bracelets (usually I loathe knitted jewelry but these look nice). The cup cozies are lovely and I've made a few for friends. The helpful wrapping suggestions at the back of the book are really sweet. It does use fairly expensive yarns but you can always look for cheaper substitutes on ravelry.com.

Deserves Ten Stars
I waited in anticipation to Joelle's follow up of "Last Minute Knitted Gifts' and was not disappointed. If I could rate this ten stars, I would do so. I have to wear a tracheostomy tube in my throat to breathe, and on page 99 there are patterns for the most beautiful (and soft) cowls one in my position ever hope for. Not only one, but three designs. How wonderful! As I slowly turned each page, what a "delight"...This book far exceeds it's name. Cannot wait to rush to LYS tomorrow and scoop up yarn for several projects I already have tagged as a "must have". I am so delighted with this book, if I could, I would give the author one of the biggest hugs she has ever received. This book has a wide range of projects surely to please any knitter. Whether you are a beginner or advanced knitter, this is the book for you. Thank You JH..Sandy

I like it
I had borrowed the book previously so I knew what I was getting. It meets a specific need really well. Knitters at any level, with any amount of time, can find something they'll be proud to give. The book is divided into sections according to the estimated times the projects will take. I don't knit as fast as the author but it gives me a relative idea. The projects have a clean simplicity to them that I like which is probably due in part to the nice photography. At the back of the book, there are some very clever ideas for customizing and wrapping the gifts, gift tags made to hold extra buttons for one. The print is a little fine for me, but the patterns are clear and nicely laid out. It's a beautiful book.

Beautiful book to look at.
I enjoy just looking at Ms. Hoverson's books, beautifully photographed and printed. I will probably make several of the projects as gifts. I am inconvenienced by the yarns used though. I don't always have access to or want to use the yarn suggested so I have to Google them to find out what the weight is. I could complain about the number of needles used in some of the projects too, but I think the different sizes add to the uniqueness, texture and beauty of the project.I like the lack of fussiness, the attitude of fun and love of color in Ms. Hoverson's creations. I'm happy to own her books.

Great ideas in here
Projects are separated by the time thay can take to knit. Some are very quick oth er rs can take a few days depending on how fast you knit. Patterns are clearly written. This is my go-to book for simple gifts.

not disappointed
I'm a new knitter so I'm keen to learn & try new things and this book fills that need. The first item I made was the "pretty lacy scarf" that is knit in the round. The result was absolutely beautiful and I kept it for myself. I plan to make several of these along the way to give as gifts -- as the book suggests. As a new knitter I certainly don't expect to finish the items in the time they suggest but that really doesn't matter. I like the patterns, the variety of items and that the items are suitable for beginners like me, intermediate or beyond. I've also made one of the cowls (very pretty and quick) and am just now working on one of the little knit baskets.I'll be making much more from this book.

A Treasure!
What a little gem! This book more than lived up to my expectations. I immediately embarked on one of the patterns and was not disappointed. It knitted up perfectly and more than did justice to the photographed item.I love knitting in the round and particularly appreciate patterns like this which save hours of time stitching up seams and potentially spoiling hours of neat knitting by less than perfect seams. The seam-less little tank top I knitted for my Grandson is perfect for an active toddler, having no joined edges rubbing his babysoft skin! The wools used are easily obtainable in the UK which is another plus factor for the patterns in this book. The times given for knitting may be a little optimistic, but I can't wait to start the next item.

Tutto scritto in inglese... Sarebbe bello ma i termini di maglia in inglese sono un pó ostici..non è facile da comprendere
