CenterPitch CP10XL Intonation Trainer and Tuner

This is a neat little combo tuner/ metronome. I play the Horn, and it has been very helpful with my playing. It has many nice metronome features ( triplets, time signature, etc), and is very easy to see and read out of the corner of your eye. The fact that it changes to red when you are out of tune is nice too.Highly recommended if you dont want to invest too much money into a metronome/tuner combo.

The Center Pitch CP10XL "Traditional" Intonation Tool is a tuner / pitch generator / metronome for your band instruments. My middle school student found it easy to use.I did not give it five stars because it was difficult to read the directions as well as the button labels. I had to get out a magnifying glass because THE PRINT IS TOO SMALL -- even with my bifocals!

When I received this item, it failed to power on properly (displaying random characters in the screen), even with 2 different sets of batteries. I returned it. When I received the replacement, the new item failed to power on at all, even with different batteries. I try to be forgiving of the occasional product defect, but two in a row is enough to ruin my confidence in this manufacturer and item.

It works ok, the part I figured out. This did not come wtih instructions. I still can't figure out how to use some of the features.

I was disappointed to find it not working this past (Easter) weekend (30 days after receipt, so I didn't meet the deadline for returning). Even after putting in new batteries (and repositioning them carefully), it did not work. BUT, I removed the new batteries, WAITED 24 hours before reinstalling them, and now it appears to be working. So if you have difficulty, try doing that before tossing.... I'll post future reviews if I encounter any further problems, but I'm hoping they are over. Other than that, I like it, but you do need to hold down the on/off key for about 2 seconds to get it to work each time--a safety feature I guess.

Very easy to use, very professional, but interface friendly enough for my beginner child to use. You simply cannot beat this little gem. Don't waiste your time going to the store!!!!

This is a very smart format and multifunctional and cheap instrument.Handling it is easy I recomend evry musician. Personally I use it to guitar to tuning my instrument and I also use to pitch generator function to mouthharp to find flat sounds.It was suggested by a contemporary moutharp giant JP Allen. Purchased as a gift for my grandson. He said he liked it. But since I don't use it myself, I am unable to rate it higher with 5 stars.
