U.S. Military mens Poncho

Quality woobie! Our family has treasured these and used them as throw blankets for years. They are lightweight and keep you warm in the cold without making you overheated when it's warmer. They can be rolled up tightly to take up little space. Perfect for watching TV on the couch or taking to bed. Great for lining a sleeping bag for extra warmth.

It is hard to overstate just how handy the US Army Liner, Wet Weather Poncho (aka The Woobie) truly is. It's light. It's soft. It's warm. It's comfortable. It's probably the single best piece of gear the US Army ever issued.Looking for one does take a bit of detective work. You do NOT want the cheap Rothco or Fox Chinese knockoffs. It will fall apart on you almost upon unwrapping it. No, you want the actual USGI issue Woobie. Beware of weasel descriptions like "made to spec" or similar vague language. If it's actual issue, the description should say so. Also check out the vendor and their reputation. In this particular listing, I happened to know that the vendor does NOT sell the cheap knockoffs, and I've done business with them before. So the actual description on this listing is wrong...I received real Woobies, not fake ones (and no, no carry bag...). TUpon receipt, check it out. I've attached a picture of a label from an actual USGI issue Woobie. It will have a real NSN number, not a pretend one.That said, combine this with the USGI poncho and you have an excellent (and light) field expedient shelter/sleeping bag combo - or when laced into the poncho, a very serviceable wet weather sleeping bag. But even just around the house as a throw, these are seriously warm. Keep one in the car for emergencies.I purchased a few more of these which were advertised as used but in great condition...and they were. Really. It's almost magical how well the Woobie works to keep you warm. Buy one and cherish it.

I’m probably more excited then I should be...I was pretty skeptical based on the reviews I read…I’ve been a “Civi” for quite some time, however this is the pretty darn close to what I remember for being active Army seven years. Brand new with fresh tag. Look and feels right to what I remember. It does seem to be larger. Even better when washed.Very happy

Still provides that middle ground warmth, not to hot but keeps the cold away. Anyone who has used one in the military knows exactly what I mean. Extremely light

Some other reviewers have expressed concern over receiving inauthentic products from this listing.I received a legitimate army issue poncho liner from the seller Allegheny Surplus Outlet. I've bought other things from them in the past off of everyone's favorite online auction site, and have always had excellent experiences. They shipped this out far faster than Amazon's quote, and the condition is exactly as advertised. If you're looking at this, I highly suggest you buy from them.

I know somebody in the military calls this a poncho liner and the folks selling it are just following tradition, but the name suggests that it is a liner for a poncho, meaning you could put it on under a poncho. This could not be further from the truth since there is no hole in the middle for your head. This is more like a blanket, a polyester camo blanket.It does not compress well, so it takes a lot of space. I have it in one of my emergency packs, so I have not actually used it, but it seems well made and useful as an emergency blanket.

I love this poncho liner. When you wrap yourself in this ,it is neither too hot or too cold. This is good for an excellent throw on the bed or couch or recliner or you can take it camping. I have 2 in the house and one in my truck. This is a must have for everyone. When folded up it does not take up much room and it can be squashed very small. You will not regret purchasing this. I recommed "ammo can man " as being very reputable.

I received a "returned and repaired" poorly poncho liner. It is the exact same "Genuine issue woodland camo" copy I returned to "another" vendor but it had been poorly sewn up in at least dozen places. The plastic envelope it came in was ripped and the adhesive stuck badly to the product, had to almost tear it! It is very strong adhesive that I doubt would ever come out the fabric. I would consider keeping it if the sewing repairs were remotely acceptable, but it's a mess. Seems like someone is taking the returns, fixing them then selling them as "issued". The tag is NOT even close to the same as the top review posted. I am extremely surprised to have to wait 48 hours for the seller to approve my return. What a disappointment.
