It said alarm battery but did work for saflok door

Bad Batch?
I purchased 500 batteries and replaced 381 of our rooms with these batteries within the last week. The last two days, we've had to change out four batteries already. When we tested the batteries, they came back a little stronger than 3 volts. We decided to test new batteries that have never been installed and some of these are 3volts out of the box! Not sure if we got a bad batch or what the deal is.
