It's plastic, but does what it's supposed to.
If you read the product description, it says injection molded. It's not heady duty. But it does exactly what you want it to if you keep that in mind. Of course if you don't use a template/flush trim bit, you'll melt the jig. IT'S PLASTIC! Use common sense. Go slow and make sure don't over heat the bit so much that you melt the jig. I've used this jib 16 times and the jig is still in great condition. Yes, there's a little scorching on some of the sides, but it's still 100% accurate. If you damage this PLASTIC jig because you melted it, it's not the jigs fault. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone needing to install counter tops.

Worked as expected.

Use of Fastcap Flipbolt Jig
Like: When used properly, the jig performed very well.Dislike: Could be made of stronger material. The jig flexed even though it was screwed down and moved during routing.

Works Well For My Few Cuts
I used this jig for routing eight cuts in solid maple countertops that I was joining. You should use a pattern bearing router bit to keep the fast-spinning router shaft from touching (and melting) the plastic jig.

flimsy, embarrassing dishonest
I'm a huge Fastcap fan, but this product [and in particular; it's picture] is deceitful and dishonest. It appeared to me that the product was a solid piece of plastic, with sufficient heft to be used more than once.It isn't. You MIGHT be able to use it to create a real template, but I didn't want to try, it's that useless. Don't be deceived. Don't buy. You've been warned.

Make a template from this template.
I chewed this thing up with the router bit making a MDF template from it. My fault. It saved me a lot if work laying out a template. But honestly, If you got more time than money, you can easily make your own template from a piece of MDF, though it would take some time. I mainly got this because I never used flipbolts before and I figured this would just get the dimensions right the first time. If your familiar with flipbolts, I think you can easily figure out where to make the dog bone dimensions.

For $11 it’s worth it for making an MDF template.
It’s thin, so you’ll either have to use a short depth straight bit with a top bearing, or do what I did. I used it on a piece of MDF to make a full sized template with 4 cutouts. Then you can clamp the MDF template to the worktop and use a standard 1”x1/2” bit with a top bearing.

Good template for toggle bolt recess
Installing a bamboo countertop and needed to join two sections. So bought this template to cut out recesses for the toggle bolts that will clamp the two sections together nicely. Also used biscuits to keep two sections level and some wood glue. The template provided very good results - however be careful when using it, the template received didn't lie completely flat so the router snagged on it and the cut out area was damaged - it still worked well enough to hold the bolt, but once aware of this we held the template down and cuts were perfect.

Plastic Template
- Not the same template as shown in the picture.- Plastic hollow template.- It heats up and might melt the sides (be careful)- 1 long, 1 regular and half cut out, again not as shown in the picture. Once you heat up the sides you need another one.

You have to make sure to keep the router steady other wise it will damage your jig
I do like the jig is my second one it does the job I would prefer if it was stainless steel
