This battery indeed fits inside the Jawbone Big Jambox and completely restored the function of my expensive, discontinued bluetooth speaker, which I have always loved. It has a big, full sound that can easily fill an outdoor space, and I was broken-hearted to find out that the company disbanded and quit supporting their products, so I decided to give this replacement battery a try. I am not electronics-oriented, and I was able to follow the directions and successfully complete the battery replacement, though I recommend also watching a YouTube video. The screwdriver they give you works fine, but I'd recommend using a butter knife instead of the plastic wedge tool they give you to pry the sides off. Be careful, though, you don't want to crack the sides - if you do, you'll probably never find a replacement part. A few things to note about installation: 1) The first 3 screws you'll remove (underneath the rubber tabs on the bottom) are a different size than all of the other screws, so put them aside. The rest of the screws are all the same, which makes it pretty easy. 2) Pay attention to how the shiny metal grounding brackets go in the bottom of the unit. The instructions tell you to take a picture. They are pretty delicate, and when I was removing the last screw, the bracket kind of sprung up and flicked the screw away, which I then had to spend a lot of time finding on the floor. 3) Before removing the old battery, pay attention to how the wires are routed underneath the small electronic board and be sure to do it the same way when you put in the new battery. There are even little posts that help you route the wires. So far my speaker works great, charges normally, and the battery lasts a lot longer than the original one. If anything happens and the battery dies prematurely, I will certainly update my review accordingly, but for now I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

This is a great repair/replacement kit. The magnetic screwdriver shipped with the replacement battery was a great tool - didn't slip or strip the screws. The panel/trim removal tool worked well too. I was about ready to give up on my 11 year old big jambox because of its battery and power issues, but I'm so glad I didn't and just replaced the battery instead. After replacing the battery, I'm still using it on the charge that the replacement battery came with, so it seems to be a good quality battery that will hold it's charge. I've used a lot of different bluetooth speakers in the past, and there's something about the full-bodied sound you get from the big jambox, it's just great. So glad my jambox is up and running again! Great price on this battery and quick shipping. The instructions really helped and were easy to follow. Take photos of the existing speaker components as you're opening it up - it pays to reference those photos when you're screwing everything back together!

I was not happy with the tiny screwdriver - the 12 or more little screws are “hex head” and are very tight. The metal of the screwdriver is not hardened enough and it tends to become rounded off and just spins in the screw heads. I carefully filed down the end of the screwdriver after it rounded off and managed to remove and then replace the screws but, as someone else found, if you can’t make that happen, you’ll have to toss your Jambox. Also, a couple of the screws were damaged and I barely managed to get them back in. So, the kit works, but it seems dicey to me without a better quality screwdriver. Not enough time to test battery but the Jambox has worked normally so far.

I've had a Big Jambox for many years but the battery shorted and would no longer take a charge. It actually happened just a year after it was new. Very frustrating because Jawbone wouldn't communicate about it at all. Then they went out of business. I've searched the problem and read accounts of the horrors of trying to replace the battery with no success. I can't imagine why. This battery came with step-by-step instructions that were easy to understand and easy to follow. I did the whole thing while I watched television. It only took about 30 minutes. The battery came as a kit with everything needed. The battery is amazing! It is much higher capacity than the OEM battery and even seems to give the low end a punchier "kick", it seems. (.....Maybe my imagination). This was a terrific bargain and an excellent application. My Big Jambox works perfectly now. I'm so pleased with the whole purchase/install. Order with confidence!!

This review is only concerning the tools. I'm very pleased to have a battery to replace the old one. The tools needs to be a tougher, the tip of the pry tool broke attempting to open the sides of the Big Jam Box. Also, the screwdriver tip was wearing thin. As I was using it and started to strip the screws. Good thing I bought a complete set of tools prior.

The installation went smoothly but took about 30-40 minutes. The downsides of this kit are that the instructions are printed in a tiny font (get out your glasses) and the included tools are hot-garbage (you'll likely need better tools for the battery replacement). The Jambox seems to work well now running on battery with this new replacement. I'll update this review later with details on how the battery life is performing.
