Yamaha 4C Clarinet Mouthpiece, Standard Series

My Girl Is an absolute beginner At clarinet. She plays around 8 other Instruments And wanted to try a Woodwind. We Bought Her a clarinet And she asked For This mouthpiece. IT Works great. Was a Little tight but she put some cork greese On And IT worked great! IT Has a great durability And The sound Is awesome. IT plays awesome. Happy with This purchase

Bought this for my daughter who plays in her highschool symphonic winds group. She took it out the package prepped her reed and installed it with no issues. Then went through a few scales with ease. She says it sounds so much better and was happy yet confused at why it sounds so good. lol

It was totally worth buying a Yamaha mouthpiece for our used clarinet. My 11 is just starting to learn, and this is working well for them .

I had purchased my daughter a very beginner clarinet package for $90 (it has a lot of good ratings). It was fine, but required a very strong breath to create a tone. So, I purchased this mouthpiece and some #2 reeds, and now it sounds and plays like something much higher end. She is now very happy with her clarinet. I highly recommend this mouthpiece, especially if you want to dramatically upgrade a much lower-end instrument.

The initial attempt at putting the mouthpiece and my clarinet barrel together (even after applying and treating the cork with cork grease and sealing the mouthpiece in a plastic bag, was impossible. I could only insert the mouthpiece into the barrel a third of the way at best and with difficulty even after applying a little oil. Taking the two apart (although only partially inserted) was likewise hard even after numerous attempts during a period of two weeks. I tried warming the cork with a hair dryer and although the gap between the mouthpiece and the barrel slightly lessened, I had to use a nail file and carefully and gently filed the cork in multiple stages while periodically checking for fit. Only then was I able to put the mouthpiece and the barrel perfectly together in a tight fit. I hope this was only an isolated issue and uncommon in other people's experience.

My son plays in the high school band and uses this mouth piece everyday. It is a great piece and has held up well. Would buy again.

I bought a Yamaha C4 mouthpiece because I am a beginner and I want to support improvement in my playing. What I read was that this mouthpiece, because it has a narrower vent, allows a beginner to play longer, improves their tone, and helps build embouchure strength. It has done all three. One bit of caution - this C4 mouthpiece is not suitable for an advanced player because it limits the expression can be achieved. I am not sure what that means, but right now it's not pertinent to me. As a beginner, I am pleased with it.

Apparently from folks I spoke with at Yamaha, the mouthpiece and ligature are treated like reeds—user expendables. They don’t make them and apparently aren’t concerned about the quality. Humorously, Amazon provided a number for Yamaha tech support but that has been removed since the time I called them. This mouthpiece is fair but not worth the price. There are other Chinese-made ones that are as good but lots cheaper. While Yamaha’s instruments generally are fairly decent, this mouthpiece is not.

todo perfecto. me gusta la marca yamaha ya que son de calidad. y ya la conocía por usar una boquilla yamaha en un saxofon,compré esta boquilla para el clarinete porque la que tenía era muy pesada para sacar sonido. con esta 4c me resulta mas fácil ya que soy principiante
