My Favorite Pan
I use this pan for all my cooking needs. It distributes heat very well, especially when the burner is smaller than the pan's base. Enough room for larger food ingredients as well as reducing stir fry greens.

Not a good quality if purchased brand new
Bought a used 5 qt. Tools Of The Trade stainless steel skillet at a second hand store today, for only about $17(bought a separate stainless steel lid for about $3)-as some of the other reviewers noted, where the handle joins the body it bends-more so than any other stainless steel pan I've ever used-and I've been using such for over fifty years-but it cooks well enough I suppose(cooked some meat in it this evening; it turned out nicely as expected)but is it worth the $40 I hear some of the customers say this item costs brand new? Not for my money it isn't but then where are you going to find a decent stainless steel pan anywhere for under $40 nowadays? I guess you the public will have to be the 'judge and jury' about it...10-6-23.

Both thumbs down on this item!
Had I paid $40 for this item, I would certainly be returning it! However, I got it for $12.99 + $9.49 shipping. I used oil - not spray; I used medium heat at first, & the onions & potatoes stuck immediately so I turned the heat down to low; I had to add a bit of hot water & stir CONSTANTLY as food continued to stick; I added baby bok choi to the pan & had to add even more hot water. This was not a great cooking experience! When I washed it - by hand - I found that the pot had a mottled stain all over the bottom inside. I'll be boxing it back up and sticking it in my next garage sale!

Disappointed
Since this was on sale for a really low price I bought two, one for me and one for my mom. This pan is BIG! It looks very nice and I really liked the glass cover. So I decided to try it out last night. This pan definitely allowed a lot more space than my 10" Cuisinart, which was nice because I could mix without worrying about stuff falling out of the pan. So I transfer the pan to the table and I notice that the area where the long handle is located is a bit flimsy. In other words the pan is not thick and sturdy enough so you can actually see it bend in a bit when you move the handle.I also noticed that a bit of water collects inside the metal rim around the glass of the cover so I dig the dish towel into the area to try and dry it as much a possible. These two things bother me enough that I will be returning it. I doubt that this will bother my mom, heck, she actually uses pans that are warped and about 60 years old (no kidding!) As for me, I guess I'll have to get a better quality pan that is more heavy duty.

really large pan
I pray this pan is as good as my 20 year old tools of the trade, however after reading other reviews, I'm almost leery of trying it. The seller is great though!! The first pan I received was dented and they sent a new one to me immediately!! Great job !!!

Couldn't be happier with this skillet!
This has become my "go-to" skillet for most things. It can go from the stovetop to oven, lid included.

Awful....
I got this pan after my last one scratched up to the point where everything started sticking to it. (Hubby always used metal utensils) On the very first use, I noticed everything stuck to it as well. And as Cat Mom states, the handle is flimsy. Good thing I got this on sale, but even at $40 it was overpriced. I ended up paying a bit more and bought an Anolon Advanced Bronze pan. MUCH better! Save yourself the time and the money on this one and keep looking.
