Exactly what I was hoping for. Delicious salted licorice

Mind blowingly salty! At first, it is almost like a chemical taste, that is the ammonium chloride. It is a different taste than just licorice. As a licorice lover, I was taken aback at first and not certain. So, I approached it again, but as its own thing, not as licorice. Something about popping a few of these and just letting them slowly dissolve and enjoying the flavor...Texture wise they are a smooth, soft, yet hard chew. Almost like tough gummy bear. It will not break your teeth if you bite into it, but it will not just chew up like a normal gummy bear. if you bite right into it, it is almost like biting into that of a Sugar Daddy.Anyhow, If you want just traditional licorice, this is not for you, but I still think you should, try it. If you like salt, then this is for you. If you like licorice and salt, this is also for you , of course.

I’m making it 5 stars because I THINK this is how it is supposed to taste? It is definitely an acquired taste. I heard people talking about it and I had to try it. The first day my reaction was “it’s not as bad as I expected” but I tried it again a second day. “Hmmm a little better, I kind of dig the salty play on flavors” the third day I couldn’t put them down and started craving them a bit. I did leave some out in a candy bowl and now my kids don’t trust any candy I give them 😂

This has a little more of the bitter ammonia taste and less of the enjoyable salty licorice taste, so I don’t like these as much as some of the other similar products which have less of the ammonia aftertaste. If you like the ammonia taste (and I understand some do) then these might be your favorite.

Love love love these! You have to be fond of salted licorice. It says hard but it is really more like the way a soft honey cough drop is hard and then it isn't. The salt is exact right and the licorice taste is the best. These are actually the best I've ever had and I've been eating them for 45 years!

It is false advertising to call these black licorice of any kind. I would absolutely complain in person if that were possible. I love salty black licorice but there I honestly can't say I taste any black licorice in these. There is a nice saltiness but barely a hint of actual black licorice flavor. If you want a licorice candy that doesn't taste like licorice then this is the candy for you. It's an OK candy, just don't call it black licorice.

An intense flavor experience. Familiar for those raised in a Dutch household or those who have traveled to Holland and enjoyed their much loved sweets. Be careful, it is strong and salty. But like a little taste of The Nederlands.

Good during black Licorice taste and the right amount of salt.
