Great Blender, Great Customer Service
I love this blender. The glass container is thick and heavy as it should be, especially if you're putting ice or frozen foodstuffs in it. The motor is quite powerful and relatively quiet as far as blenders go. After about a year, a tab on the lid tore, so I called B&D about it and they promptly replaced the lid free of charge.

Excellent performance for the price
I bought this model of B&D blender to replace a cheaper model I bought at Walmart that did not perform to my satisfaction. This model works very well, and does an admirable job of crushing ice when making smoothies. While I'm sure there are other amazing blenders available, they can cost hundreds of dollars. This model fit the sweet spot between being sold at a low price, while also providing high performance.

Broke After 2.5 Years. Buying another one.
-Bought this blender 2.5 years ago when I moved out-Have used it roughly 2x a day each day for a frozen spinach and banana smoothie 2x a day.-It broke and would not start randomly, however, after around 912.5 uses? I'm fine with that reality.I just bought a new company blender (which was way more expensive) and there's this rubber smell it's emitting when blending certain things. I'm not set if I'm going to return it or not? So I bought this just in case. I cannot be without a smoothie for a day LOL.TLDR: This blender is amazing for the money and does the job. No, it doesn't blend everything down into a fine paste, but honestly it was good enough for me for 2.5 years! I loved it.

Great blender at this price point
Pros:Easy to disassemble to clean (few parts)Clever cord storage to "customize" the length of cord showing by manually winding the cord underneath the blender baseThe bottom of the blender pitcher assembly is made to cover the blender base while using the blender. This deflects or "sheds" any spills away from the blender base. A nice design touch to make it easier to clean if any spills happen. The blender blades are not sharp but somehow work great. Not sharp = won't cut you easily.Substantial, thick, sturdy glass pitcher (which can be placed in the freezer to help keep your milkshakes or cold smoothies even colder while you make them.Cons:when I put "chunky" items into a milkshake or health shake, sometimes a few chunks survive the blending. I get around this by cycling the "ice" setting a few times and it (usually) gets all the chunks.A lot of blenders have this problem, and this blender is no exception.Other:I've had different blenders over the years and this one is what I would call "average" for noise. Not terribly loud, but not as quiet as the more expensive models. The noise level is appropriate for this price point.

Great blender!
I’ve been very pleased with this blender. I make smoothies with it almost every day and it not only blends frozen milk cubes but “sticky” fruits like prunes very well. I don’t believe any blender can be termed “quiet” but it is much quieter than my previous blender. The first few times I used it, I had trouble taking it apart to clean it and my husband had to help me but now it’s easy for me to disassemble it myself. I also originally had a small amount of leakage but that is no longer a problem. So, if you’re concerned about it the first few times you use it, hang in there; it will work better the more it is used!

Makes good milkshakes
Great for making milkshakes - that's mainly what I'm using it for. Powerful motor, but needs a low-speed setting - a variable speed dial would be perfect. When I'm using milk with frozen fruit and veggies (.5-inch pieces) in the supplied plastic drinking glass (not the jar), even the lowest speed sounds and feels like the whole thing is going to explode on the counter. Sounds like the gears are grinding and stripping - like trying to shift a manual transmission without pushing in the clutch. Even with the base and glass tightly screwed together, it somehow leaks and squirts out while blending. Pulsing the frozen ingredients before blending doesn't help much either. I pulse a dozen times but it still vibrates and makes horrible, loud grinding/stripping noises, even after everything is smoothly blended, so it's not the hard, frozen food causing it. The gears and couplers are all plastic and I really believe they're going to crack apart every time I use it, which is every morning. We'll see how long it lasts.I'll do a follow-up review in a few months, if it lasts that long.
