I bought this for my fourth grade student. We are doing a geology unit and they’re using these to read the book. These magnifying glasses are very sturdy and are holding up very well with my students using them daily and dropping them daily.

Great size for 3 year olds to use to explore!!

Does what it’s supposed to do

I use these in my second-grade classroom for science. Two months ago the children used them to study different rocks. I wanted them to see the crystals and textures of different kinds of rocks and minerals, and these worked great. The kids were very pleased to have "real" magnifying glasses that let them see the details of the rocks.The magnifying glasses are made from sturdy, thick plastic. They should last for years! The lenses are, as another person noted, about the size of a half-dollar. The quality of lenses is very good considering the cost, and the 5x magnification worked very well for close examination. The 15x magnifier is very small, but useable. I read many reviews before choosing this set. I highly recommend these.

Bought as a combination to give out on hikes for adults to look at things in nature, as well as to leave a few in places where a magnifier would be useful. (cabinet, bathroom to read small print) They can't be used for writing without pointless work to fine the annulus of focus offset from the center. The plastic is great, super transparent, but the curvature is wrong, sad considering it's otherwise a handy 'form factor'With reading you MIGHT just get away in an emergency and LOTS of light moving it back and forth to try and read a word or line. But forget looking at anything you DONT know the shape and character of, like the edge of a leaf etc since the out of focus distortion is so bad. The image is with a small aperture phone camera, but with a human pupil it's worse. and it's pointless to look at a magnifier with a cell phone.I got the set, and the would be an embarrassment to a classroom teacher or person explaining something small, and are functionally useless for reading small print due to all the effort to try and read a few letters at a time in words. The upper left image is of a GOOD quality image with a magnifier of the same material, so it's possible, just not with this company's product, I've seen similar things, the material is cast the right shape, but contracts during forming, you can feel the non-smooth curve. I probably should just return them.
