If you ever need to check if a wire is live without having to disassemble things, this does it quickly. You get an led and audio indication of the "amount" of voltage present. Has a handy LED torch too. I have used this in lofts to check non labeled wires for lighting. Less hassle and potentially safer than probing with a multimeter. Also, a good sense check before you take anything apart!

Nice bit of kit to have in your tool bag. Like the fact it turns off automatically . Unlike one I returned because it would be be triggered even though it was good foot or two away from a live current, this one has to be close to a live wire to be triggered thus reducing chance of errors.

I use this Electric peakmeter allthe time at work, it's amazing and it does what it's made for. I trust it with my life so what more can I say.

I am no electrician. But I lost power to my greenhouse socket. With this item I knew it wasn’t the socket that was at fault. Because I tested the cable leading to the socket and fount it to have no power going into it. I also tested the armoured cable running out of the house from the fuse box and it also showed no power running through it. So I knew the problem was in the consumer unit inside the house. I replaced the MCB in the consumer unit. I tested the cable again and found that the current was flowing again through the armoured cable to the greenhouse. Without this I would have initially bought a socket and worked my way back. So it saved me some money on getting an electrician in to find the fault

I moved into an old house and it has wires here and there which I had no idea if it’s live or not. It checks for voltage in sockets and light switches and even wires in the wall which is not too deep in. An easy and fast way to go around the house and check every lights switches and sockets to make sure they are working or safe to disconnect or change bulbs.

The price is really good but is not perfect, often the torch does not work without reason and I tried different times where I knew there was high voltage and the lights on the pen was indicating really low voltage. If you are looking for something really professional is bette not to buy this one otherwise if you need for your personal use is fine

Works well, can detect a current flowing through a cable behind a wall, however the accuracy isn't the greatest it can't show you exactly where a cable is rather than just that a live cable is fairly close which is ok for what I needed it for which was making sure cables were dead before working on them but if you want pinpoint accuracy maybe look at a more expensive tool.

Das Ding piept sobald man auch nur in der Nähe einer Stromleitung ist. Bei uns piept das Ding sogar im Fußbodenbereich. Was dieses Gerät zuverlässig anzeigt, ist jedoch welche Leitung in einem Kabel Strom führt, dann ist dort der höchste Ausschlag bzw. Piepsignal. Das hat mir in einem Altbau geholfen gleichfarbige Leitungsadern zu identifizieren, mehr aber auch nicht. Ein normale Prüflampe hätte aber auch schon gereicht. Jetzt spielen Kinder mit dem Gerät und lernen wo überall Strom im Haus vorhanden sein könnte.
