Why are they called 9 inch balls? Does that refer to the actual ball size diameter, or to some other measurement?

its the measurement in inches around the ball. The circumference. A typical baseball is 9.25 In

Are these for use with a wiffle ball bat, or a metal bat?

I hit them with a metal bat so my dog can chase them, haven’t broken one doing that yet. They do not do well being hit with the lawn mower, obviously, otherwise they’re awesome!
