Great recipe book. Just got home from Hungary & knew I could find a book on Amazon instead of adding weight to my luggage & bring one home from there. Will definitely try some of the recipes. My grandma came over to US from Hungary.

these precious recipes are so appreciated. having had the privilege of eating hungarian food in restaurants, i never have forgotten how very good they were. trying to duplicate them from memory doesn't work very well. having the recipes, that is another thing.

Nice looking book

Bought this for my son-in-law who loves to cook and loves my Hungarian dishes. It was a big disappointment. I was born and grew up in Hungary and can tell you most recipes in this book are not how Hungarians cook their dishes.

If you like surprises, this one is for you! I never would have thought I would have to check the dimensions of a cookbook. This is Tiny, smaller than most children's books. On the attached photo, my (small) sunglasses are included, for scale. OK, let's move on. They forgot to pack a microscope. The letters are so tiny that you would need one. Wait, there is more. I browsed the recipes. I would assume the top 25 Hungarian recipes are great! Well, it includes a recipe with Salmon. Absolutely non-Hungarian fish. Mind you, Hungary has no sea, and salmon is absolutely not part of any traditional recipe. Wait, there is more! The crown jewel of Christmas desserts, Bejgli, is included. It reads: "Frozen shortcrust pastry." Well, imagine an Italian Cookbook suggesting some frozen Pizza dough. It has the audacity to call these "authentic dishes." I am ashamed to give this as a present. I have no time to order another cookbook.
