Applied Nutrition Longer Stronger Hair & Nails 60 Liquid Softgels Pack of 3

I've been taking these pills since August 1, 2013, so about a month and a half at the time of this review. Everyone says it takes a month to start seeing results from supplements so I decided to wait on the review until now. I have noticed vast improvements in the condition of my hair and nails, and will definitely buy this product again when my current bottle starts to run out. The directions say to take 2 pills a day but I've only been taking 1 and still see results. The basics: - The pill isn't exactly a "horse pill", but it is pretty large. I have trouble/am afraid of swallowing pills but these don't give me too much trouble. The gel coating helps them go down smoothly, so taking it with a little water should be enough. - You should absolutely take this pill with food. The directions don't say so, but I took it once and only once without eating and within 20 minutes I was sick to my stomach. Other reviewers on various sites mention the same thing. -As one reviewer mentioned, the product does contain trace amounts of lead, but then again, so do hundreds of supplements currently on the market. One explanation I read said that most if not all supplements containing plant-based ingredients will contain naturally occurring lead from the earth. The amounts are supposed to be well under federal levels, but still, if you're uncomfortable with the lead thing, you may not want to take these. I haven't had any adverse effects myself. My hair: I've been trying to grow my hair natural for about three years now but I've always had problems with breakage and length retention. When I started taking these pills my hair was at the nape of my neck at the longest, and I'd be lucky if I could gather half of it into a ponytail. I'd say it's grown at least 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch all around so far, and is much thicker than it used to be. I've also had less breakage, and my hair seems to stand up to heat styling a little better than it used to. Just this morning I tried getting it all into a ponytail, and success! ...Except for a few stubborn strands but I'm not worried about those. My nails: My nails have never been in great condition. Lots of hands-on engineering labs in college meant they got treated pretty roughly, and on top of that I used to bite them. When I tried to grow them long they'd be really thin...if you pressed on them they would bend, and once they reached a certain length they would split and break all the way down by the fingertip, basically starting me over from scratch. Even every day chores like cleaning or doing the dishes would damage them. I started trying to grow my nails about two weeks before I started the pills. Since I started taking these pills my nails have gotten much stronger. They're thicker and the tips have gone from translucent to white. I have only broken one nail in all that time, and that was my own fault. I polish them once a week and see how much they've grown by the gap between the polish and the cuticle, and it's always about 1/16 of an inch, which doesn't seem like much, but it adds up. Instead of just waiting for my nails to break, now I can actually sit and file them down to a decent length when I find that they're getting too long. I can take care of housework without worrying about my nails getting stripped or splitting and cracking, and it's been great. So, overall, I really love this product...it produces great results (better than I was expecting, to be honest), doesn't make me sick as long as I take it properly, doesn't break out my skin (I've had problems with this before) and has helped me to worry a little less about the condition of my hair and nails and how I look overall because of those things (less stress and more confidence is always a good thing in my book). Highly recommend.

I had a lot of hair breakage and my nails were weak and would never grow. I have been taking this supplement for hair and nails health and I have seen a significant change in my nails and hair. They are both growing stronger and healthier looking. I barely find any hair in my shower drain and my hair isn’t as fragile anymore. For the first time in many years I had a gel manicure without adding nail extensions. My nails have grown to an elegant length that I could never accomplish without the extensions. I’m very pleased with the results.

I tried a biotin pill from another reputable company. I tried them for 30 days and really did not see any difference. I decided to give these a try, believing as most of us might, that perhaps biotin really had no real affect on hair growth. I am not a complete hard sell, but I also don't buy into everything. I am pleased to say that these biotin pills really do work. I have experienced fuller richer hair, especially in areas where I had some hair thinning, due to hormone changes...you know what I am talking about ladies! I could see noticeable patches of thinning near the forehead area. My hair felt lifeless and thin, even though I use good shampoos and conditioners. Now mind you, I have baby fine hair but I have always had a lot of it. Now when I look in the mirror I can see a noticeable difference. I do not see any more of the thinning patches and my hair is shinier and i can really feel the fullness as I run my fingers through it. I am not trying to sell you anything, just give you a mature woman's honest experience with the product, just to help anyone else out there wondering if this may work for them. As an added important note my nails have grown faster and they are much stronger..as before they were brittle due again to Hormone Changes(Ayi Ayi Hormones)!

These vitamins do work! I've been taking them for about 5 months and have steady growth. I am an extremely slow grower....not the average of .5" but more like .25" a month. Since taking these I've have been getting a 1/2" a month, non stop. But I saw some youtube videos on this new vitamin called Manetabolism and was up in the air about trying them, but so many people have sworn by them. So I ordered them from a seller on ebay. I've been taking them for over 2 weeks and cannot continue any longer with usage. I've noticed when I take them 2 a day I get headaches. So I decided to space them out, one in the am and the second one at night. Still to my dismay I am getting the headaches. I usually never get headaches so I know it's these vitamins. About a day ago I decided not to take the Manetabolism and took the Applied Nutrition Longer, Stronger hair and nails vitamins without getting a headache. This morning I tried the Manetabolism again just to see. And low and behold I have a headache again. I will have to stick with the Applied Nutrition brand because I never had any side affects with them. I also became sick taking the Hairfinity capsules. With the Applied Nutrition, I also noticed faster nail growth. I've always had long natural nails but these vitamins seems to accelerate the growth and hardens my nails as well. I was so surprised to see these vitamins at Walmart, but they are around $11.00 as opposed to buying them on amazon where I found them for around $7.59. But considering the shipping charge and the wait time for shipping it equals about the same. All I want to say is sometimes all the hype about a product especially on youtube is exactly what it is, hype! These do what they claim, at least for me and I will stick with them. I also take the Rainbow light prenatals with these. I also would like to add when I was on the Applied Nutrition straight without deviating my gray roots were coming in fast, like the second week. But since I was on the Manetabolism my growth was very very slow. I measure my growth when I color my hair, so that's how I know about the speed of growth I get. There are only two hair vitamins I can take and that is the Applied Nutrition and the Country Life. They both work for me and most importantly no side affects with either. I would have given the vitamins a 5 star but my growth with them are'nt as fast as others claim. But they do work for me!

It's likely I've been taking this more than 25 years. (1st photo then, 2nd photo is now). I let myself run out of it ONCE about 8 years ago and found out I have half the hair I think I have! Need I say more? Well, just in case more would be helpful for you. I'm a hairdresser of 35+ years. I didn't REALLY know the science when i began taking it. I do now and i still agree with me!! I have turned MANY clients on to this product in all these years... in fact, enough that i should own some stock in the company! Hahaha! Every client had the same AMAZING results. Faster growing thicker stronger more shiny bouncy hair. Because hair "normally" grows 1/2 inch per month, i always tell my clients to give it about 6 months... i would say that's when you are suddenly FLOORED by your hair. You can tell at 3 month, but 6 is when you become a customer for life! When i ran out that one time, and like half of my hair went away, initially i couldn't find this exact stuff... i wasted SOOO much money on every hair vitamin with the same ingredients for a many times the price, but they just weren't the right mix somehow. I even purchased the same vitamins separately to try to make this be in my system and still it did not work AS well. You know, sometimes they just get the right mix and it works. Another thing about this company that I love is... it ain't broke and they're not fixing it! Yhey're not changing the formula all the time! Thank you AppliedNutrition! PLEEEZE keep it up!!! P. S. If you ever do make a new formula I would want to try it, please label it New Formula, and please still ALWAYS still sell this one! Okay? Thank you!!!

I lost a lot of my hair after a lengthy hospital stay. I started using this and within the first month I could tell a difference in the quality of what hair I had left. After 3 months my hair was so much thicker. My hair has always been very slow to grow but after a year of using this product my hair was shoulder length and thicker than it was before my illness. It is two years now and my hair is almost to my waist. Longer and thicker than I have ever been able to get it to grow. Another plus is that it does not upset my stomach. My fingernails are stronger and longer as well. My skin has also seen some improvements. I can't say it diminishes wrinkles but it has definitely given me a more youthful texture and feel.
