This is a great heater. I wanted to get one because we keep our house very cold in the winter and I could see that was bothering Bucky The Betta. When I first plugged in, I monitored very closely to be sure the temp didn’t exceed 80 degrees (the little thermometer it came with was very helpful). I am happy to report that this heater does am awesome job at maintaining 80 degrees consistently and shutting off when it is achieved. I know it has shut off because the red light goes off. I recommend for smaller tanks!

We were gifted a betta fish and had to buy all the accessories in a hurry. Oddly, the pet store didn’t mention we needed a heater, and our little guy didn’t seem at all happy. We ordered this heater for our 3 gallon tank. It is preset at 77 degrees (I don’t think there is a way to change this setting) and it works great. My betta is a lot happier now too. One thing I’ve noticed is that the heater runs a lot at night when it’s cold, and of course not as much if at all during the day when the indoor temp climbs higher (we live in Florida and this is winter). But since the water is prewarmed to 77 at night, as the day warms up, so does my tank. I’ve found my tank at 84. Betta still seems happy, but I feel like that’s probably the limit. I would be concerned that if I had a smaller tank, under similar weather conditions, that it might be subject to even greater temperature fluctuations. I would suggest taking caution with a smaller tank than me, but for 3 plus gallons, this will be perfect for you.

Good heater that comes with a lot of nice accessories. The heater automatically knows when the temp has dropped and will turn on and keeps the water in a very constant warm temperature even when it's super cold. My only complaint is the suction cups are very annoying and come off very easily and will stay stuck in the tank and it is very hard to take it off, so I make it float instead. The extra decorations are nice and the thermometer strip is a bit weird and it really sticks to the outside of the tank and can get ripped so I recommend putting it on the inside. Sometimes, the water feels cold with the heater but my betta seems warm and happy.

My room is in the basement of the house, and my betta was starting to get too cold. I was happy to find this heater for such a low price and a small size (my tank is very small, and only holds one fish). I was worried when I got all of the warnings with the directions to use this heater, but I've had it for a month and it works perfect! It keeps my tank at 75 degrees pretty consistently, occasionally going over and under. I'm not sure how long it will last because of the price but I do know that it is working very well at the moment. Plus it comes with two little aquarium plants!

I got one of these ahead of the cold temperatures announced nationwide (cold front). Unfortunately, I got a defective unit. I contacted customer service from the seller and they replied within 2 hours and worked with me to replace the unit. I got the new unit and it works just fine. It has an LED that tells you when it is working and it warms up the water slowly, so the fish don't get sick from sudden changes of temperature. It comes with a thermostat that keep the water within 60-75 or so, so you don't have to worry about the temperature in the water. I would recommend the product, especially knowing that the customer service is outstanding.

This is a great heater for very small tanks. It keeps my 1.5 gallon tank at 78-82 degrees Fahrenheit. The plants that it comes with are great. They fit wonderfully in my tank. They are not sharp and don't cut my Betta's fins. Sometimes suction cups don't stay stuck though. When I dip my finger in It sometimes seems cold, but my Betta seems really happy, so I'm not worrying. Also, the box it came in was all in Chinese, I don't know why. I don't think I would use this for a big tank, it isn't really strong, unless you keep your house at 75 anyway. This was a great purchase overall. UPDATE: I have bought a second one to put in a 2.4 gallon tank. First off, do not get this for a tank any bigger than this, it struggles a lot to keep the tank at only 70. Will have to buy another heater. Disappointed because description says it will keep up to five gallon tank at at least 73.

Would be a great heater for a larger tank. I used this for my 3.5 and 5 gallon betta tank, I tested the water temp after a day or so and it was always at 86 degrees which is too hot for my betta. He was swimming around really fast and acting kind of crazy. The temp sticker is very inaccurate so be sure to buy an actual water thermometer. I ended up purchasing a heater that let me control the temp instead. Its a good water heater and I really liked the slim design, it would just need to be used in a bigger tank. In case you’re wondering if you can put artificial plants in front of it (even if they’re touching the heater) you can. It won’t damage or melt them.

It's small and it works. I have a small tank (2.5) gallons for my little fish and my house tends to get cold in the winter. I got this in the email and set it up in about 2 minutes and it has been working great ever since. Even when I leave my window open and my room becomes about 35 degrees (F) my tank stays in the '70s. For this price, this heater cant be beaten. Not to mention the company throws two small plants in with the heater, and they seem to pretty high quality as well. I had my friend buy this same heater for her fish and she loves it too!
