I love it
I absolutely love the feature where the sticks can be detached, I bring it everywhere so this feature made it more portable

Good purchase but....
6 yr old loves it. But do toss the plastic stick that comes with it and replace it with a 1/4in diameter piece of doweling as recommended by others. You can get a piece at any home/hardware store for about $1 and they will cut it to 24-30 in length depending on your child's height. Then use a knife or sharp blade to make a point on one end. The wood is soft so this is not a problem.

Good product
Looks good, kids like it. It's exactly what I thought it would be. Even little 3 year olds can at least balance them without spinning.

Not able to spin with non firm stick
This is not like the 80’s plate, the stick is Not firm and not able to spin the plate.

Plate = great, but get a new stick
The plate is great, but I'd highly recommend throwing out the stick it comes with and getting yourself a sturdy wooden dowel to use instead. The stick splits into two pieces, which was not expected, and might be nice for storage travel except that they don't fit together super securely; more problematically, the material the stick is made of flexes quite a bit, which can make using it dangerous. You want a non-flexible stick for spinning plates (at least in my opinon). Within 2 minutes of opening this item and trying the stick, it unexpectedly flew off the flexy stick and gashed my thumb. A friend who tried it later accidentally flung half the stick across my apartment, nearly hitting another friend in the eye. Then we threw the stick in the trash, got a 1/4" dowel, and sanded a point onto one end... it works much better. Again, the plate is great, but the stick is crummy... though it looks like pretty standard for what's available on Amazon. Just expect to get another stick and this is a fine item.

Spinning Plates
I had these when I was a child-about 100 years ago--and I loved them. I'd walk around the backyard for hours spinning the plate and pretending I was in a circus. Now, 100 years later, my grandsons love them, too. They were VERY surprised that grandma could spin two of them (also got one in blue and one in yellow) and even balance one on her forehead. It takes a little skill to get them started, but once the fun begins, it's hard to stop.

as expected
This product came more or less as expected - a little simpler. The spinning plates provided hours of fun for kids and adults alike. Very much worth the price.
