Excellent value for money!
Got this for a school science project, and it came exactly as in the product description and photo. Weโd ordered two packages, and they came double sealed. Whatโs more, the individual packages have a resealable zip, so that makes storage within uses that much more convenient, safe and reliable. The particle size is not quite nanometer size, but then that too was mentioned clearly in the product description, and we knew that beforehand. So, no complaints there. Oh, and it was delivered earlier than promised! A pleasant surprise.

Messy but good quality.
My daughter needed this for her school science project. The price was good. But be aware this stuff makes a mess. Not easy to get off skin or clothes. But other than that. It worked great. Was mailed fast.

I used it to make magnetic play doh
I wanted to make some magnetic play doh. I found an easy playdoh recipe on google using 2 cups of all purpose flour, 3/4 cup of salt 4 teaspoons of cream of tartar and 2 cups of lukewarm water. I added a cup of the iron oxide and cooked it in a pot stirring until it became playdoh. Then I took some strong magnets to make the playdoh move around. Kids loved it. The iron oxide is black so the playdoh came out black and makes your hands dirty which is a downside. On the bright side my kid keeps leaving food in his room so I sprinkled some black playdoh near the walls and told him itโs mouse droppings. He stopped eating in his room, but also stopped sleeping there.

A load of ferromagnetic fun
Black Iron Oxide or Fe3O4 can be a lot of fun to make magnetic compounds out of, from magnetic slime to ferrofluids and beyond (like Thermite), but the clean up is unreal. This is worth mentioning that these are nanoparticles in size so are basically as small as pollen and really should avoid inhaling it under any condition, it will go through a dust mask, so take care when handling it in its powder state. It also should go with a warning that this will stain basically everything it comes in contact with so be well prepared for a messy cleanup. The pictures attached are a basic ferromagnetic fluid that you can see how this powder reacts under a magnetic field when coated with a surfactant and suspended in different carrier fluids. Enjoy with care!
