He loved it
Got this set for my boyfriend who was previously in the Coast Guard and worked on ships. He absolutely loved it and thought it was so cool. Easy to assemble and good quality. Added it to our collection of Legos.

Lego What more do i have to say. There awfull expensive, but alot of fun
My 6 year old loved it, of course like all other things since he made it, he's hardly looked at it again. This does not do the toy itself the justice it deserves its a great replica of very important vessel and Agency that helps people in our coastal waters and all other bodies of water they are serving. This was not a particularly difficult build the instructions are simple to follow at least for the 40 year old supervising. It does float, but has difficulty remaining upright. It tends to roll to starboard and to port. The zodiac floats except in rough bath tub waters recommend all part get dried thorough after any water use. Enjoy!

This set is amazing!
My boys have spent hours playing with this set in the bath! They have loads of fun and use lots of imagination. They did break it into a few pieces after having it in the tub a few times, but that is to be expected. We just fix it real quick and it is ready to go in the tub for some more fun. You get so much with this set. There is a large Coast Guard boat, a helicopter, a patrol boat, a submarine, a lighthouse, 6 minifigs, a dog, a crab, and 3 sharks (awesome fun in the tub). If you are considering this set, just buy it! I can't imagine anyone being disappointed in this amazing Coast Guard set.

Exceptionally good value
This set offers a ton of play -- the boat floats, the raft floats, there's a helicopter (with pontoons -- DOES NOT FLOAT), there's a submersible (DOES SINK, heh heh), a lighthouse, and sharks. Plus 6 minifigs! Pilot, captain, first mate, second mate, and a happy couple. Plus a dog. Plus a popsicle! So much goodness. Some very nice details, like the bridge windows, the way the helicopter and submersible launch from the main vessel, and the outboard motor. Great set at this price.

Hit the seas to save the day!
This is a fantastic LEGO set: For all of you who are fans of the sea, this set is a must have. The coast guard boat is actually very large and quite impressive in person. What is probably most appealing about the large coast guard boat is the fact that it floats (the second smaller green boat floats too). Bath time will never be the same... please note, you may want to avoid applying the stickers in this set if you decide to take either of the two boats that float into the water. The large coast guard boat even has a submersible that can deploy from the back of the boat. Near the front of the boat, you have a helipad for the coast guard chopper to land and take off from. There are tons of sharks that come with this set, there are ample LEGO minifigs, and lastly, there are plenty of unique LEGO pieces that are perfect for the free-spirited LEGO builder who ditches the instruction manual and works from scratch. Please check out my pictures to get a better visual of this set and all the fun that comes with it. NOTE: This set is retired and is no longer sold by LEGO. That means you'll only be able to find this set available via the secondary market with secondary sellers. To keep things in perspective, the original retail price for this set was $79.99. In closing, if you're able to find this set for near or close to the retail price, then I would recommend picking it up. I have no doubt you'll be impressed. Pretty awesome Lego set
This ship is much bigger than I expected. My 7 YO son had the whole set built in a short period of time, I think less than 2 hours. It has lots of fun stuff to do, a submarine, a helicopter, the ship, a lighthouse, and a separate raft. He brings everything into the bathtub of course, which this set is designed for. On this hull, unlike the smaller fire boat, there seems to be a little spot to connect a water proof enclosed motor. I wish Lego will continue to build these larger ships. A ferry that the Lego cars can drive onto would be fun. Like the ferries in Staten Island or Seattle.

Exceptionally well engineered
Lego has outdone themselves with this kit. You get: 3 Coast Guardsmen, one with a captain hat and two with ball caps and headsets 1 Pilot in orange jumpsuit with helmet 2 Boaters, male and female, with lifejackets 3 Sharks 1 Dog 1 Crab You also get the Coast Guard cutter, which is really well designed- the roof flips up to access the bridge, with control stations fore and aft. There are buoys/fenders on each side of the ship, a rotating (manually) radar antenna (the bar type usually seen on ships), a working hoist aft, and a helo pad on the forecastle (that's the raised deck on the front of the ship). There's a minisub/ROV with twin props, which clips onto the hoist. There's a helo with a winch and anchor and floats instead of skids, which sits on the helo pad. There's a speedboat with a nicely rendered outboard motor and it's own radar (the round kind on small boats). And there's a lighthouse with a bunch of jagged rocks. It was a fun kit to build and there's a lot of potential for creating adventures. To top it all off, the cutter and speedboat float because- why not? Yeah, Lego just figured the boats should float. Awesome.

Grandchild Gift
Three of my grandchildren are really into Legos so who am I to deny them this pleasure. Besides, I also know that one of my kids will be stepping on little tiny pieces of plastic in the middle of the night and then dancing around thinking of me, and this brings a smile to my face and warms an old father's heart. Merry Christmas to me!

Got the Lego coast guard. My son loves it. I rate one star down only because of the delivery. I was asked to pick them up at the post office.
