Used it to connect pvc to a hydrant faucet, then buried. After 2 years, so far so good.

I recently purchased two Fernco 1056-075 3/4-in. Flexible Couplings, and my experience was mixed. While one coupling seemed to be of decent quality, the other was delivered in the wrong size - 1 inch instead of the ordered 3/4 inch. Given this experience, I'd cautiously recommend this product, advising buyers to carefully check their order upon receipt.

Lowe's did not have this product, only reducer Fernco couplings! It is exactly what it claims to be, a straight coupling. I installed mine to some 3/4" copper heat pipe. A contractor nicked the pipe with a drywall saw, causing a nick about halfway through the wall thickness. I sliced this coupling lengthwise along the injection molding line with a utility knife in order to get it around an installed pipe. I then wrapped it around the pipe and put the hose clamp right over the nicked area. I figure it provides some extra insurance against a potential future pinhole leak, and would at least slow it down.

I made a new outside valve for my home. This 3/4 inc Fernco's coupling really made everything easier as I just created and connected the outside PVC pipe thru the wall with it and a small hole in the wall. I would have to break the wall to have space to install the PVC pipe if I did not use this coupling. As for the installation, I did have to adjust tightening the steel straps a few times before it completely seal off any leakages. This Fernco Coupling does bump-up right in the middle where it connects two pvc pipes together. My home water pressure is about 35 psi so I don't know if it would work where the water pressure is higher!

For some reason I could not find rubber couplings for 3/4 inch PVC, Sch. 40 in my local hardware stores! Been looking for some time. Think of all the top names of hardware store chains, and I went to all of them! I found these down to 1-1/2 inch, but not 3/4. I created my own with two hose clamps and some clear plastic tubing, but I’m kind of a stickler for using the proper component in the proper application, so I replaced my homemade coupling with this. Works great! Just like the bigger sized ones. Great price, too!

A high quality product - works well

I used this to connect 2 pieces of PVC pipe that I previously hack-sawed apart. In order to remove the pressure relief valve , the overflow tube needed to be removed, so I hack-sawed it apart so I could clear the wall. At first I thought this connector was too big, but screwing it to the pipe made a snug fit. I also used some Vaseline on the inside to create a water tight seal.
