Roundhill Furniture C020BR Urban Style Solid Wood Leatherette Padded Parson Chair, Brown, Set of 2

I ordered 2 sets of these chairs. They arrived quickly. I received them yesterday and it took less than an hour to put all 4 chairs together. They came with the allen wrench which is the only tool necessary to put them together. Only issue I had was the red plastic bag with the bolts for one of the chairs had holes in the bag. I was missing washers but finally found them in the packing material. Also, had a problem with one of the bolts would not screw in. I took the one bolt out that had already been screwed in so I could make sure I had the leg in right. (I did). I used the bolt that had gone in the bottom hole up to the top hole and it went in and used the bolt I had a problem with in the bottom hole and it also went in so all is good. I paid $87 for 2 chairs from Amazon. I saw similar chairs at World Market for $99 each so I am really happy with the price. I ordered the white thinking I can just get chair covers to bring color in but I really like the look. They are also very sturdy and no wobbling.

I was somewhat apprehensive about ordering these chairs. The reviews are mixed but the photographs look pretty good so I ordered 3 sets (6 chairs in all). They all came on different days. One box was in pretty good shape, The second box was delivered in a second box with another ordered item. The interior box was in bad shape but the chairs were protected. The third box was also delivered in another box because the original box was in shambles and parts were coming out of the box (the top was completely ripped off - poor cardboard I think). And 2 legs had fallen out somewhere along the line. So I am short 2 legs which, I assume, the vendor will replace. That said all of the materials were intact (except the 2 legs) and all seem to be in good shape. All hardware was was there too. (inside the bottom of each chair seat. There are 9 Allen head bolts for each chair. An Allen wrench is included with each chair so you can install the chair without additional tools. However, if you have, or can obtain an Allen head wrench tool for your electric drill this will speed the assembly up VERY considerably. We really like the look and feel of these new chairs. They have the appearance of rich dark brown leather. And seem sturdy enough for reasonable use. The dark brown legs are uncovered stained wood. susceptible to dings but can be easily daubed with a suitable furniture stain repair stick. The chairs are a little shorter (2.5 inches) than the Parson's chairs they replace but still nice and easy to lean back on. Given the price we like them very much and we are very happy with our purchase. (If the vendor comes up with replacement legs). <smile>

At the time I bought these two chairs, they were less than $100 for the pair. This price was far less than any others I found like it. Most people were selling a similar looking product for almost twice that. So I am willing to be a little more generous on my review than I would have were these priced like the competition. I could afford to buy 6 chairs instead of 4, which was nice. You will have to assemble these yourself obviously. I was impressed though at the fact that each chair has a velcro bottom and that is where the tools and parts to assemble each chair are stored. Each chair has it's own allen wrench so when we were done with assembly we just taped the wrench back to the bottom of the chair and sealed up the velcro so it was hidden. If we ever need to tighten a bolt or disassemble the chair, the tool will be quite handy. Actual assembly was pretty self explanatory. There are two legs, a chair back with two legs already attached and a seat, so each chair comes in 4 pieces. There are 9 bolts and washers per chair, two for each leg, and then the rest attach the seat to the back. When assembled the legs don't seem very even. Like the chairs wobble. But when you sit in them the wobbling ceases. I think the weight kind of levels out the chair so all 4 legs touch the floor. This is annoying, but not so annoying I'm going to send them back. As long as they aren't wobbly when sat in I think I can be ok with these because the price was so good. UPDATE 2/10/16 - The chairs are still in daily use. Every few months they need the legs tightened. I keep the allen wrench that came with the set taped to the bottom of the chairs for this purpose because I find myself tightening every few months. Also one chair cracked when I stood on it, presumably because standing on it put pressure in one point rather than a whole rear end spread out on it? It is still usable, but the wood underneath is split. I think as long as I don't stand on that chair again we'll be fine.

I found the chairs of high quality as they were advertised. They arrived in a timely manner but were missing 3 of the washers needed to properly install. After a trip to Lowe's it was completed, but these parts cost so little perhaps they can include extras' OR make sure they pack what is needed.

The negative reviews for this product are right. These chairs are terrible quality. They're MAYBE okay if you want to put them in a dining room that you never use just to look good and fill the space. Don't let guests sit on them though unless you have great homeowners insurance! In our case, these chairs were fine in the beginning. Not that comfortable, they don't feel padded and you can definitely tell that it's plastic material rather than leather, but we thought they were okay for the price. Within a few days, we already had to tighten the screws because some of the legs were loose. And this is with very tame use - no moving them around or taking them outside or anything. It got worse and worse until the screws couldn't be tightened anymore and there was a split in the wood. The legs were visibly wobbling around so luckily we had the foresight to 'retire' the chairs to the trash before they could collapse. We were doing a trip to Goodwill at the time and we made a conscious decision not to take them because we didn't want anyone to think they looked like nice newish chairs and sit on them and get hurt. That's how bad they are. Oh, and the leatherette had cracked in couple of places too along the edges too. If you want something that will be safe for your family and guests and last longer than a year, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

I love these chairs, bought the green and it is beautiful. Bought six for a tinted smoked glass rectangular table and it is perfect. Went together smoothly and easily (not quickly). Legs are expresso color. There is 1" solid wood framing underneath, 9 bolts per chair for solidity, and ample padding on the seat and back. Very comfortable and attractive. Arrived in 2 days! via UPS in perfect condition. The product is wonderful and the price is wonderful and the workmanship is wonderful! Very happy. I would say to follow the directions carefully, because even if they all look the same, each chair has one shorter bolt for the center back of the seat. If you use the longer one there, it can go through the back fabric. And look inside the front leg to be sure that the tapped screw hole is facing in, not out. If you do this, they will not wobble at all. When all else fails, read the directions!

I bought this set of roundhill chairs open box for $43, a seemingly amazing deal. As the old adage goes you get what you pay for. There were enough bolts to assemble 1 complete chair. On the paper form it states the parts are available but not for open box items. I just tossed the other chair as it could not be assembled without the proper bolts and my son needed a chair for his desk immediately. Disappointed with quality control. The chair itself is on the small side, perfect for a child or small adult. Not nearly as sturdy as other parsons chairs I’ve purchased for the dining room table.

Let me preface this by saying the box the chairs were delivered in was DESTROYED - and by that I mean it was wet, ripped, indented, full of holes and even MISSING pieces of cardboard - it looked like it had been thrown and had stuff stacked on it. I was less than optimistic when I arrived home to find it in that condition, in the rain, on my uncovered porch. Brought the box in, took lots of pictures "just in case" then opened it, expecting to find damaged leather at the very least. The chairs were packaged well enough that there was NO DAMAGED - they weren't even wet! There are some things you need to know if you order these chairs: 1. They are narrow, these are NOT going to fit a wider frame person. I am not saying that to be mean or rude, my mother is heavy set and finds them uncomfortably narrow. If you are not comfortable in a narrow chair look elsewhere. 2. The back has more of a curve to it than it appears in the picture. To me this is not a bad thing, they just look more straight backed than they are. 3. All the tools and hardware you need are in the seat of the chair (the black cover is VELCRO'D on) nothing in the instructions indicates this and because of our box issues I at first thought that stuff was missing. 4. Several people have indicated that one leg was short and/or the chair wobbles, if this is an issue double check that you have the seat EVEN (this may be why some people reported the holes not aligning properly as well) it is very easy to assemble the chair even with the seat off kilter - even though it looks straight, if the chair wobbles you need to adjust the seat! All in all we are quite satisfied with our purchase.

Great quality and comfortable, very little to assemble and easy to do . Came packaged really well perfect chairs for any tablle .

LESS THAN ONE STAR. When you realize the cheap awful quality, they want you to manage the return. I would be embarrassed to have this furniture in my home. It was falling apart before assembly was complete. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE!!!!

Ordered a bright red … came as dark red ! Not exactly like the picture … but I will make it work !

The "Roundhill Urban Style Solid Wood Leatherette Padded Parson Chair, Black, Set of 2" are lovely chairs - I've had as many as 10 sets of these delivered to my home in the past for various reasons and assembled them all. For some reason, the most recent iteration of this chair has really cheaped out on the front corners where the legs sit. The chairs are comfortable and all, but the corners are really fragile if you happen to touch then during assembly. They seem like a cardboard, or laminate type material, with no structural strength. I had one of my chairs break before it was even assembled. HAving said that, once the leg is in, it is fine, and will be fine unless someone grabs the corner, or if it is bumped. So, overall, these are really comfortable chairs, look great, but are expensive for the quality of the construction. They are not solid enough to merit the cost.
