An EXCELLENT Book For New ICU RNs
I bought this book back in 2010, when I was a newbie ICU RN.It gave loads of useful info as to the wondrous devices that an ICU RN would see in the ICU. Central lines, Swans, Pressors,....After years & years of experience, I found myself wanting to pass it on to newbies in the ICU.The ICU is a stressful/scary environment for new RNs. This book provides an EXCELLENT resource in the basics. Now that I've retired, I'm now passing my copy along to a newbie ICU RN at a local hospital.GREAT book!

Perfect book for new ICU nurses
All i have to say is wow. A delightful and easy read, the perfect way to learn what you should expect in the ICU and practically most of what you need to know in a way that makes sense. Awesome awesome job. So glad i found this book. Reading it as a new grad nurse doing my practicum in the ICU with the hopes of landing a job there. Yes it's the size of a normal textbook, however the layout and format is easy to get through and well organized. All the questions i had in my head regarding some of the content were eventually answered in a way i could understand. Pictures and everything. This book is my lifeline.

Just like the author says
I've been a nurse for 8 years but started working in MICU 8 months ago. I have several critical care books but I have never actually looked forward to reading any of them as much as I do towards this one. Just like the author says, its written as a preceptor material and I absolutely love it, and all the humor makes it so fun to read. This guy must be so awesome to work with! The book gives you detailed preceptor information that no other critical care guide would in a way that those other books just tell you clear cut dry info where Notes on ICU Nursing tell you the information in a way you can actually retain in your head with many real life examples which is the way I can remember. If you just tell me something maybe Ill remember for a day or few but support it with real life situation it sticks in my head. Can't compliment this book enough.

Amazing book.
This book is so much fun to read! The info is broken down into things I can understand. I bought it one year ago and re-read it not to long ago and there is so much I have learned from it.

Priceless preceptor knowledge
This book is incredible! It is just like having a preceptor talk to you and tell you all of the nitty-gritty, behind the scenes, down and dirty, nuts and bolts, need to know- information that you can't get from an ordinary textbook. Thank you so much Mark and Jane for putting your incredible wealth of knowledge on paper for the rest of us to learn from. I am reading this in preparation for my ICU transition I love it.

Introduction to ICU
I found this book via their website... after reading a few of their online files that are available for free I opted to purchase this in the book form as it was an enjoyable, informative read and I wanted to support the author. This info is a great resource and fun to read. I really like its grassroots and truly appreciate the efforts the author has placed in compiling and updating this book.I recommend it to anyone entering the ICU, somewhat new in the ICU or students aspiring to enter the ICU.

New Grad RN - Great Resource!
Such a good resource. Written in an easy read way. I'm a new grad MICU RN, and this has been a lifesaver. Highly recommend. (It's HUGE by the way, but worth the effort to get through it.)

Excellent!
I've been using the website for years but this book is a lifesaver at work. I love that it is written nurse to nurse instead of genius to student. It's easy to understand and personal examples make it real. It's fantastic and I use it for my new nurses all the time. This is my second copy. My first copy is tattered and has become community property in the ICU.
