Our year old kitten started scratching the carpet under the bedroom door, causing damage and waking us in the middle of the night. For a couple weeks, I would just get up when he started doing that and try to sleep a bit more on the couch. Apparently it was making me act erratically, triggering manic behavior. The carpet protector was perfectly sized and easy to flatten with some boxes of soda cans. It worked the very first night. Kitten meowed a bit but no scratching. During the day when the door is open, seems to be a nice place to hang out as well. I am grateful for full night uninterrupted sleep and a stop to carpet damage.

This product is amazing! I use it because my “cat room” is vinyl and the hallway is carpet. When my cats would have a temper tantrum they would reach under the closed door and claw the carpet. I just wish I bought this sooner.

I have a pair of snake-cats/carpet-sharks aka: Ferrets. We thought we had ferret-proofed the house, but we had a hallway that ended with three doors and the ferrets became determined to discover what was behind each door and started tearing at the carpets just as a cat would. Unfortunately we didn't figure out a permanent solution until they had caused a fair amount of carpet damage under the doors, we kept putting things in front of the doors that the ferrets always figured out how to move them or get access to the door one way or the other (clever problem-solving ferrets). I wish I'd thought of these mats sooner. They have done the trick and the ferrets not only can't damage the carpets anymore, they have lost interest in the doors and are back to bouncing and dooking around the house. Only a few things of note: these are overpriced... as others have mentioned you can do this for much cheaper at the local Home Depot or Lowes if you're willing to do some cutting of your own... but these definitely work... also, they were shipped in ridiculously huge boxes, but still managed to come in warped and refused to bend back into shape or lay flat... however, placing them in the tub full of hot water for a few minutes they quickly "de-warped" went back to the intended shape and now lay flat with zero issues for two very clever ferrets... remember to soak them in hot water if they arrive bent/warped. Overall, I'm very happy to have found a permanent solution that works... but I deducted a star because these are just too pricey. Should be at least half what they cost.

Ok, I know this is basically a cut piece of chair mat but it really works and is so much less of a hassle than trying to buy, unroll, flatten, and cut a big one down to size. Unfortunately, my cat REALLY wants into the bedroom at night and had already started ripping up the carpet. This scratch-stopper did exactly that - it halted the scratching/ripping and squished down the ripped fibers (can't even tell it's messed up!) so they aren't lose or getting wrapped up on the vacuum roller. It was super easy to measure with my iPhone and fit perfectly right out of the box. Great product!

I have some carpeting in our upstairs hallway that desperately needs to be replaced, but it is a lower priority than some more urgent household projects. It is fraying near some of the doorways and makes a stunningly attractive nuisance for my four cats. Enter these - they fit my standard doorways perfectly! All you have to do is unroll them and lay them in the doorway, and they flattened out from the package within a day. When I need to remove them to vacuum, I just pick them straight up and set them aside since they don't use adhesive or anything to stay in place. So far, they seem quite durable - they can handle chairs rolling over them or vacuums rolling over (if I'm just passing through) with ease. Functionally, they were perfect for my needs and wholly addressed my use case of preventing cats from messing with the fraying carpet or pulling them up.

love that they come pre-cut. they are really easy to flatten out - i bought a bunch for our new house and just threw them all in a tub of hot water for a few mins. then it's just set and forget - they don't move or curl up. we walk on them all the time and they stay in place. they are really thick and sturdy. our cats haven't scratched under the doors since we have been using them so they are definitely effective.

So I decided to buy this because the cat rips the heck out of the carpet by the door of my apartment. I'm talking piles of fibers that I had to vacuum up every day. It all started because they replaced a threshold but cut the carpet on the inside of my apartment too far so there was a gap between the threshold and the end of the carpet instead of it being flush under the threshold. That's all the cat needed to wreak havok on the edges and start tearing it up. The opening of the door is an odd number but the entryway is only a few inches wider so I felt I had to go with this size. I ended up cutting an inch off the edges because it wouldn't lay flat. Overall it mostly keeps her away from the area, I used to catch her up to a dozen times a day over there and now with the plastic and some double sided tape I might find her over there twice but she doesn't pull any fibers out. Since it's a door that is constantly opening and closing it gets knocked askew and I have to fix it a few times a week. These are the reasons for the 3 stars, but it is certainly better than nothing. I think the price is a bit unfair but I was desperate as I'm sure most people in this situation are.

Got the 32 for my 32 inch door. There is a slight gap at the edge in the corners, howver this hasn't been an issue as of yet. Have had it in for about 1.5 weeks so far and while my cat has investigated it and tried to scratch at it, he gave up within a few days as can't get to the carpet now. Hasn't even tried for those exposed corners. This has been a massive saver for me as my cat was doing some serious damage to the carpet. Just wish I'd bought it sooner. Came slightly bent, put it in warm water as per instructions, now it's perfectly flat. Definitely recommend.

Definitely a product worth buying and saving your floor

So disappointed. Bought the exact one last year but these do not cover completely - even though we measured. There is about a 2 inch gap on one side .
