I gave it a three star rating mainly due to most people being impressed with the product overall so figure it can’t be all bad. My concerns are mainly centered on there should have been some disclaimers on the suppliers website for certain situations involving features of the door. I even directly contacted the actual company US Energy Products and sent them photos of my door, you think they’d mention a couple of things I’d need to think about, such as having windows in the door. No where in their instructions do they mention how to handle them. In the one email response I did get back when I contacted them about some questions I had, they stated: “For the windows to cover it complete with the insulation” I’ll ignore that’s it’s not even an English sentence, but sounds like their solution is to basically eliminate the functionality of the windows and just insulate right over them. If that’s their answer you’d think it would at least state that somewhere in their instructions, but maybe also have an alternative if you don’t wish to do that. I ended up cutting the insulation into narrow strips and installed directly to the backside of the door as didn’t want to lose the windows and the daylight they provide. This did require more cutting and more tape needed so by the time I was done, I ran out of tape and had to find another similar roll to buy online.But that’s not even my biggest concern as my photos show. Each panel of my door is constructed basically in the shape of a giant “C” channel as many doors likely are. The surface that you’re instructed to attach the 1.0” wide tape to is only about ½” wide at the top and ¾” at the bottom. Basically half the tape at the top and a quarter at the bottom is attached to nothing but air. How much that part of the tape is actually providing any retention is unknown as have no idea if it’s even sticking to the insulation panel since can’t see the back side to know, at best likely not sticking very well. Again, you think they’d mention that this may be encountered during the install or supply with narrower tape. The instructions imply these surfaces are wider than the tape.The next issue I ran into is that as the door goes up, the top lip of each panel kind of folds or dips underneath or inside the bottom of the panel above, (3rd photo) so as the door opens the top edge of the insulation panel is “clipped” by the door panel above and after only three days of use, the panel was de-laminating as the photo shows (1st two photos). If that’s as bad as it would ever get, I guess I’d be OK with that, but my fear is if it got this damaged after three days, what will it look like after a few months or years of use, likely completely tearing apart. The simple solution would be to cut each panel slightly narrower, and leave a bigger gap at the top (I had actually left about ¼” gap) likely would have needed to cut about 3/8” lower to clear the upper panel. But when the lip on my door used for attachment is only ½” wide to start with, locating the panel 3/8“ lower, plus the ¼” gap I already had, won’t work very well at all as there’d be nothing left to attach to.As the photo shows (4th and 5th photos) I ended up kind of scalloping the top edge of the panel and removed the inner side foil layer and the core insulation so all that was left the thin foil layer that was still attached directly to the tape and in turn the door. This certainly reduces the insulation capability of the panel for the top ½” or so, but figured this is the best way to prevent damaging the panel every time the door opens and closes.I gave it three stars for warmth and adhesion as at this point, no idea how good or bad those properties will beSo overall wanted to make it known, that depending on your door construction, the installation may not be anywhere as straight forward as described. I also live near the coast so my door has hurricane bracing, so had to remove all of them to install, but again no mention or warning that people installing may into this also. I’m a pretty handy person, was able to work around everything, but should be some warning of some situations you may run into and acceptable work arounds that can be implemented. Will see this summer when temps get high how well the insulation properties are with the modifications I had to make, hopefully won’t effect it too much. Guess my overall message is: Buyer beware!!

Fairly easy installation for single person. A little disappointed that I only see a drop of approximately 5 degrees in temperature during the hottest part of the day in central Florida. Obviously other components than just garage door insulation impacting heat condition. However, every degree certainly helps!!! Would recommend, with realistic expectations!

This has been wonderful for keeping the garage above 50 degrees (we're in Southern New Mexico). The pressure tape that holds it in place did not stick as well to the insulation panels as it did to my fingers, though. We ended up having to buy thin plastic bars which we screwed to the garage door panels through the insulation in order to keep it from pulling off with repeated opening of the door. It does take two people and a lot of patience to manage attaching to a double garage door - especially the top high panels.

So far seems to be working great. We have noticed a difference in the garage temp already. However, we didn't order correctly. We have a 5 panel door and purchased a 4 panel kit. So, we can't really tell yet. Luckily, they have great customer service and they were willing to send us another roll at no cost. So, I will update once we complete the installation.

We lined our garage doors with this product and the results are fantastic. We live in the desert and the sun is unmerciful. Now we can go into the garage to do laundry in coomfort.

This was very easy to put in and the results are great. The insulation not only keeps the garage warmer but is also making it quitter than it was. When you open the door the door squeaks and rattles are dampened by this insulation and works great. Wich I had put it on years ago.

Took 30 minutes and garage is cool as a cucumber. Seriously. I work out in the afternoon and it is over 100 degrees outside but bearable in the garage and there is no ventilation. Must be 15-20 degrees cooler because of this product. Sun would slam on the door but not anymore.
