Perfect for bleaching for curtains, pillows, etc!
Absolutely perfect for bleaching, to be used for curtains, throw pillows, printed on for artwork, chair cushions, large floor cushions, recovering lamp shades, creating faux striped grain sack fabric to be used for long decorative pillows for bedding or table runners, etc. Unfold and place in the bottom of a large laundry room sink or top loading washing machine, fill with hot water and 6-7 cups of bleach. Using a long screwdriver, large metal tongs, or strong metal ruler (anything metal to use for stirring.. or, good rubber gloves), agitate, stir, turn the cloth every 90 minutes, making sure that the water and bleach level is completely covering the cloth. I usually begin this process on Saturday morning, stir and agitate every 2 hours throughout the day, then drain the sink and agh fabric to the washing machine, or turn on the top loading machine, adding 1/2 cup of oxiclean whitening powder to the wash before closing the lid/door and beginning the cycle right before I go to bed. The next morning, I check the fabric to ensure Iโve reached the level of white Iโm shooting for, and if I have, I run it through the was one more time at a setting which I normally use for sheets.. adding regular laundry soap.. this helps get the remaining bleach and bleach smell out. This particular drop cloth works so well because itโs 100% cotton, and therefor absorbs and reacts to the bleach very well. If you use a cloth containing any type of synthetic in it, you wonโt be able to get these to the level of white many of us desire. However, being that this is 100% cotton, it will and does shrink, so order one which approximately 25% larger than you need to account for shrinkage. I realize this seems like a lot of work, but itโs truly not.. it just requires a long soaking time and two rounds through the machine. Considering the cost of the fabric we would purchase by the yard at JoAnnโs or other fabric stores, these drop cloths are an absolute steal.. and in the end, will save you about 90%.

Great option on a budget!
As have a couple other others, I bought these to make slipcovers for a couch and loveseat. By bleaching and preshrinking the fabric, I got great results! After about four years of constant wear and tear, I need to redo mine. We have three cats and a dog, plus grandkids, and the fabric has handled lots of hard use. One thing I would do differently now is not bleach the slipcovers every time I wash them. Going to try OXY instead except for hard stains (merlot, food spills). If you can sew, this is massively cheaper to make than paying someone else to slipcover furniture.

Thumbs up
Itโs very clean, one long edge is hemmed. One edge is raw. It was perfect for what I needed, which was to put children on it with a somewhat messy project so I could roll the whole thing up and shake it out when we were done. I plan to use it for a picnic cloth outside as well as a drop cloth when weโre through with that event.

decent canvas
this was priced slightly higher than another brand I purchased, however this is the better product! Nice firmness to it, haven't washed it yet but it doesn't have a cheap feel to it. Will use it to cover while painting.

Read if you are making slip covers or curtain! Updated! x2
I bought the 9 x12 to make a slipcover for my couch. They bleached out great and I love that I can snip the end and rip down the side and it stays straight, so much easier than trying to cut long strips with scissors! These came as one whole piece with no seam so its an amazing amount of fabric for the price! I bought four total and all have been seamless. I definitely plan to purchase more of them. Update: I have purchased 6 more since the original 4. These 6 were not one solid piece of fabric. They were seamed up the middle with white thread, (the first batch were sewn with brown thread). I opened one of the second group since I had read other reviews of varied success. This cloth bleached much whiter than the first but had a very wrinkled texture almost like seersucker, Not really what I wanted for a couch slipcover. The first batch is very heavy with no wrinkling. So I returned the unopened packages and ordered a sample of the 11 oz cotton duck from Chicago Canvas directly to see if that will match the original batch of cloth. I still think they are an excellent product but they are intended for drop clothes so if you need a large amount of consistent product then ordering the cotton duck directly from Chicago Canvas website may be the best idea. It is still an excellent value! UPDATE#2 Chicago Canvas sells a 10 oz white canvas so you can save yourself the time and trouble of bleaching. Since I was already committed I ordered the 11.5 oz natural canvas duck and it bleaches beautifully. You can order the width and length you would like to get continuous yardage and the fabric and heavy and super durable. I wish I had started with this but all my cushions are already done. It will all blend well enough but I wish I had started with the website!

Nice drop cloth
5 x 20 Quality Canvas 9 Oz. Drop Cloth Runner My husband and I recently purchased a new home and decided to repaint the whole thing. These drop clothes were perfect for the job! Pros: โข Thick fabric doesnโt let small spills seep through โข Long enough to protect an entire wall โข Could be used for projects other than painting Cons: โข Not treated (large spills of any liquid will soak through if left alone, but the fabric is thick enough that it gives you a little time to clean before the spill reaches the other side. My Opinion: I used this when I was painting our new house. It was great that I could paint an entire long wall without having to move any drop clothes. I did exactly what it should: catch small spills and protect the flooring under it. I did manage to knock over a half gallon of paint on it and I was able to clean up the mess before it reached the carpet underneath (whew!). It would have been nice if it was treated with a repellent of some sort. Even after the painting was finished we used these clothes around the house to protect the carpet from dirty shoes while moving everything in. They worked like a charm. Iโve read a lot of reviews that mentioned they used these drop clothes as a rustic-chic window panel. Since mine are paint covered, I might try to dye them and sew them into panels. If youโre into the canvas rustic look, you definitely wonโt be able to find a better price for the yardage of fabric.

Better than expected - in fact, they are vey good!
Wanted fabric for very large, floor to ceiling curtains in my workshop. These are much better than expected. Excellent weave - very consistent. Nice and thick. Surprisingly, only one seam on the 12'x15' - parallel with the long side. Measurements were pretty close, despite hems - only about 3" to 6" under. I bought six, so I could pick the best ones and return the two of the worst ones, but will be keeping all of them!
