I got this Audubon Bird Call as a little gift for my daughter, and it’s been such a fun and surprisingly charming item to have. The natural birch finish is beautiful, and it feels well-made and sturdy in your hand.She was able to use it right away, and the sounds it creates are surprisingly realistic—you can actually hear birds responding in the yard! I use this on my keys and whenever I'm out for walks I'll see what calls back to me. Small enough to fit in my pocket no problem and it's fun for everyone, not just kids! Build quality is pretty stable, value is great, and it's dead easy to use. Love the wood appearance and it's a nice fidget toy too

It seems to particularly work to attract cardinals, chickadees and titmice and their presence attracts other birds. It's fun to watch them cock their heads and listen to it through the front door! It doesn't seem to make much of a sound and it only comes with a tiny bit of resin, but you can order more resin, which I did, and keep it working well. And when I use it, the birds show up :D

I'm really impressed by how bird-like the sound is from this little piece of wood rubbing against metal. It's amazing how easy it is to use with no instruction. I'm not sure yet if it will fool the housefinches on my deck, but it did immediately drive my wife nuts, so that could be good or bad depending on your intended use.Also in case you're wondering, the little pill pictured with it isn't just to show the scale: it's full of powdered pine rosin, which the package instructs you to sprinkle on to restore its sound if it ever loses it. I had one of these bird calls when I was a kid and used it for years without any added rosin, so I'm not sure how necessary that is. But it's a nice touch. This one feels just as sturdy and well made as the one I had years ago.

This little bird whistle really makes realistic sounds. I took off a star because the teeny amount of rosin which is included (it is in a small capsule). If you need more you cannot purchase it in small amounts. I don’t want to have to buy a big bag-( I know most would go unused)

Drives my dogs crazy

Item arrived on time. Rosin capsule was stuck in the hole of the handle. Plastic capsule was very brittle and cracked, spreading rosin all around. The call seems to work fine now but I don't have any rosin left if the call needs it.

I should have had one of these years ago!
