A MUST for anyone doing business with anyone!
I read the publisher's review and thought this would be an interesting book, but what it has turned out to be is a fabulous workbook. It provides a concise overview, about 5 pages per country - tabbed by country, which is very handy, with current and relevant cultural do's and dont's. This is not only good for people who travel internationally, but for people who have never left the continent.

Kiss, Bow or Shake Hands
This book was absolutely interesting. Since I had been in the real estate business and we had many foreign buyers interested in real estate in this area, you need to know the proper etiquette when working with them to find a house or commercial building. This book has it all. A copy should be sent to the President since he doesn't seem to know how and when to book, or it should be sent to the WH protocol office. Something as simple as a "thumbs up" which means okay to us, means something else to many foreign people. Gestures, conversational tips, hand shaking, clothes that you are wearing. In one country they will put down what you are wearing -- in jest. Even if you are not working with foreign clients, it is an interesting book and you can learn so much about other peoples and their customs. It also teaches you what to expect as to how they treat and think about us. Some did not like dealing with a female real estate associate, so I would have to work through a male associate -- and of course share my profits! Fascinating read!

Used it for a Class, but actually pretty useful.
I had to buy this for a college class, one of my communication ones. Actually very useful information in here even for non-business related interactions, like simply visiting another country as a tourist. Would reccomend keeping it even after your courses are done.

A must read for international business travelers
This book was recommended by a colleague of mine who also travels internationally for business. It’s been a game changer with knowing the local customs prior to doing business there. This book is super helpful.

An invaluable tool--for everyone.
Even though it is an older--2007--edition, it sure remains quite relevant to make us aware where we are, as a country and as a culture--And how we have changed, if we somehow managed to do so. It is interesting to see that all countries are always changing--and the bottom-line idea would be to change for the better. Well, culture change is the better one to work on--and, based on my initial impression, most countries that have changed have always instituted a change in education to improve their population. I can see and appreciate that Education is always key--And after reading this amazing and quite useful book--we need to educate ourselves by getting to know what other countries say about us. And maybe think about it, shall we change and make it easier for them to do business with us? How are we? How do we do business? How do we behave, and what should we do to be able to do business with each other? It is sad to see when businesses do not get going for a simple lack of understanding, most times in cultural areas, some of them quite silly, when you find out--from either side of the negotiations. Strongly recommend this book for anyone-however, more important if you are planning on going to a specific country--so, you will not be doing "silly" things or things that may get you in trouble--Like chewing gum when you visit Singapore....that is a no-no. But, you will need to read the book to find out more--I am sure you will love it. I sure did.

Outdated
Read it first time in 2008 for a masters' degree. Thought this edition was going to have more updates. For general info it's ok but corporate culture is changing so fast that some facts seem obsolete
