good tool
i have used the lisle 58100 kit on 3 cars so far for inner tie rods and it worked flawlessly every time. The adapters fit snug on the tie rods with no slipping. I did have to use a 24 inch pull handle to break the tie rods loose on 2 of the vehicles and the tool shows no damage to the square hole. It appears to be made out of good steel and will probably last me a long time.

Make sure you get the right kind of tool for your tie rods - round or flat
This tool will work with inner tie rods that have wrench flats - i.e., flat spots on the socket portion for placing wrenches or this kind of tool. However, many vehicles (including my 2006 Nissan Sentra) have stock inner tie rods without wrench flats. The socket portion is completely round and smooth. For that matter, the replacement inner tie rods I ordered are also round and smooth. So check your tie rods before you order a tool for them! If you have round ones, you'll need a different tool, like the Lisle 46600 Universal Inner Tie Rod Wrench or Cal-Van Tools 946 Low Profile Inner Tie Rod Tool.I ended up not using this tool because I had round inner tie rods. However, from look at it, it seems fairly solid and would have made the job somewhat easier had I been able to use it. There was a small hole in the weld between the socket receptacle and the metal tube.

Gets the job done
A little more on the expensive side than some other kits here on Amazon, but its worth it. The case is just right to fit in my shorter toolbox drawers and keep the adapters organized, as well as have slots for any extra adapters. First use took the tie rod right off and allowed me to properly torque the replacement, instead of Heman'ing it with locking pliers. Never liked doing that. And FTLOG do not use an impact on any of these tools. Regardless of what the manufacturer tells you, they arent made for that. You're going to damage the crowsfoot mounting slots and likely the 1/2" slot. Get a long breaker bar if you have a tie-rod that is giving you trouble, then Torque the new one down to specification.

Works great!
The Lisle Inner Tie Rod Tool worked great on my 1999 Volvo S80. It would have been an impossible job without it. I replaced the inner and outer tie rods on both sides without any problems. The Volvo's tie rods should be good-to-go for another 125K miles :-). Well worth the purchase price, particularly if you consider that our local shop (i.e. that are great mechanics) wanted $225.00 just to replace the outer tie rod on one side and the Volvo dealer wanted more. I replaced all four tie rods (i.e. inner and outer on both sides) for less that $225.00 including the Tool. This is a must have tool and made this job very easy. BTW - There are a lot of good videos on YouTube showing how to do this job. I'm not a mechanic, so the videos really helped. I'm sure that I will be using our local mechanics for other jobs, but this is a job that you can do yourself in about an hour (two max) if you are somewhat handy. P.S. Don't forget to get your wheels realigned, after completing the tie rod installation, at a local tire shop. Then, all should work great!

Missing 1-1/2 fitting
This is a very nice solidly built set. On that I fully recommend it. I've used it on my 2003 Impala which was torque spec'd at 74 ftlb, plus old ones staked and this worked great. I had no need for a 1-1/2 till now, like over a year later. I grabbed for it and found I had a 1-7/16. Grabbed the 1-7/16 and it was the 1-7/16 not the 1-1/2 so as I see in other reviews now this has happened to many people. Its been over a year but Im writing Lisle and asking for my 1-1/2. If they send it to me Ill change the review. I bought from Lisle rather than some no name cheap ch......well you know.. so this wouldn't happen. Its not so much the mistake I care about a company make make, everyone will make one. It's how they respond to it that is most important, as well as to keep me as a customer.

Works perfectly, get it.
I borrowed a tool from the local Auto Zone and found that the socket was too short to fit over the tie rod end on my 2007 Camry. Had to find another tool! This is the only option worth looking at. I called Lisle tool and the tech support was excellent. Stayed on the phone with me until I got that the tube on this tool is wide enough to swallow the entire tie rod end and just the crows foot would be gripping the flats on the inner end. Tube is 1 5/8th. End of tool is over 2 inches and the crows foot takes up the difference.Excellent design and worked like a charm. Says not to use an impact but I had to tap one of the tie rods, no harm done but I think the tube is aluminum, not 100% sure but light enough to work with in tight spaces easily. This is a 100% professional tool. My only regret is I don't have any more tie rods to do.Can't say enough good things about this tool or Lisle Tool as a company. 100%.
