Worth the investment
I purchased two alarms four months ago to help protect my puppies from coyotes insistent on getting to them (pups are well and fine, now 7 mo old). Once set for alarm mode at night and placed into position, they worked very well for my purpose. I only had two spots on my courtyard wall that were low enough from the outside for coyotes to jump, so I placed both alarms in that location. One alarm was simply set on the wall itself, and the other was zip-tied to a pole outside the wall from where a past propane tank gas line had been run and no longer used - simple setup for placement. The alarm was triggered multiple times by the coyotes and appears to have stopped them from jumping my 6-foot outside perimeter fence (as noted by lack of territorial scat markings). I'm thankful to have found an inexpensive solution because the multiple motion sensor spot lights I have throughout the one-acre yard was not doing the trick! Of note, my puppies have also triggered the alarms, which scared them at first. They are no longer afraid of the alarms but steer clear because they don't like the sound, so I'm assuming it works the same way for feral animals, which means they will be trained to stay from a certain area but might try to find a different path. For the price, I am buying more alarms because I live in Arizona near the Mexico border and have a problem with illegals crossing my property and camping out on the two acres below, cutting my barbed wire fence and damaging my property. While I do not have neighbors really close like when living in a housing tract, sound carries here, so I will most likely only use a few alarms in select locations in alarm mode and try out the motion light function in other areas where the sound could bother my nearest neighbors. I doubt anything will stop illegals from coming through my property because it is an ongoing problem, but I'm hoping it deters them from having the time to cause further damage and feel comfortable enough to sleep below my windows! Things that might be questioned; Set up is fairly simple, but I was not successful in linking the remotes no matter what I tried - not a biggie on my part. Remote door needs to be slid down in order to find control buttons. Alarms did not function properly the first week due to needing to charge power again from electrical outlet. Once they were charged a second time, they have worked fine since off of solar. If you live in an area where the sun does not always shine brightly or the alarms are triggered frequently, they might need to be charged from electrical outlet. I have had multiple false alarms due to strong winds and strong rainstorms, which is most likely due to warm air swirling around with the temperature differences. Again, not a biggie where I live because I don't worry about the alarms bothering anyone (they can be annoying to you though). When triggered, the alarm will automatically shut off and go back into sensor mode after about 30 seconds. On one occasion, one of the alarms went a little whacko and kept going off for about 5 minutes. Thankfully, it re-set itself by the time I was going to go out to see why it wasn't shutting off. It appears to be working properly since that time. All in all, I am happy with my purchase and think it was a good buy because the alarms can be moved and used in different areas, so they will most likely be used until they no longer work (hopefully, not for a long time - but if not, still worth the price because they did what they were intended to do). Hope the information helps!

Works on Skunks and Fox maybe more!
UPDATE: Low Temperature Failures are common. Below 20 degrees F, the units are not responsive and do not alarm. 13 units are placed and none of them work until temperatures rise again. Otherwise, still FIVE STAR rating. I have a honey bee apiary and have always tested various motion detector alarm systems to aid in keeping skunks, bears, possums, and raccoons away. None of those animals want to have their presence known. Bears can destroy hives in moments, but they don't like loud noises. I purchased 8 of these and placed them facing various directions and at various heights. Skunks eat honey bees and they have been my most persistent bee munchers. I found that bears respond best when the alarm is placed somewhere that intercepts them before getting to the apiary. If they already get into hives then the alarms don't necessarily deter them. BUT, if they encounter noise makers before they are IN, then they walk away and then run. I've been testing these for several months before feeling that I could post a review. FALSE ALARMS - I learned that if the battery is low and there isn't enough sun to recharge it, the unit will begin to operate on its own and run itself down. THE FIX - I pull them and put them all on charge for 2 hours with the included charging cord. Results, back on track and responding as they should. I use them in the 3rd setting. Noise and flashing lights at night only. NOT WATER PROOF - I found one unit (we've had a lot of rain) that had lots of condensation inside and it also malfunctioned. We had lots of rain and heavy weather this summer. How you place the units makes a difference, if you can put them under an overhang (still low enough to receive sun) and avoid direct heavy rains, they work much better. You "could" seal the back with silicone grease to prevent moisture entry. FINAL RESULT- They do deter animals, including my Boston Terrier, and maintain a charge from the solar panels once initially charged up. If you use them the way I do, for night only, they should never need to be charged up by the cord. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THESE UNITS IF YOU WANT TO SCARE SMALL ANIMALS OFF. The High Pitched noise doesn't carry very far, so there isn't much concern about waking the neighbors :)

Decent if Working
I just set it up after having it in the box for months. Tested it and it has a nice little siren which is what I want to keep hikers and pigs out of my yard. If it works gor a few months I will be satisfied. The instructions are HORRIBLE. There is a black power button on the back that you must press to turn the unit on... then pick your mode of protection on the remote. When I did the first test, the siren went off, but on the next test it didn't. I am going to attribute that to being out in the sun for only 15 minutes. The siren may be too loud if you are close to your neighbor.

Does not scare away raccoons. Mine didn’t have the remote control. Instructions are incomplete.
Arrived without the remote control. Directions are not detailed enough. Set it up anyway just to see if it would scare away the raccoons. They weren’t afraid of it at all. But a raccoon pulled it off the porch and carried it away. The whole time it was flashing and sounding the alarm. Still can’t find where he brought it and now I can’t even return it.

Worked so well I bought extras for around the yard. I live on a homestead in the woods. Our main predators are black bears, coyotes, raccoons, fox, weasels and rats. I keep a variety of livestock. We had a black bear coming around and ripping in to our coop. The bear eventually figured out the sound was the alarm and would stop running off. But the alarm at least woke us up to deal with the problem before we lost anymore birds. Now we keep them in various spots around the yard and no more predator issues 👍 the alarm is extremely loud and annoying, so if you have close neighbours they might hate you for putting these up 😅

Doesn’t even phase a raccoon. The sound and light was on and it played in our yard for over an hour without even flinching.

el control no funciona, no se puede programar y mucho menos desactivar la alarma desde el mismo.

Very easy to set up and install and has usb cable so could charge and set up without solar charging. Love the ease of the remote and one button set up. It was very intuitive. Only complaint is that it is reasonably loud but bought others at the same time and all supposed to be 120 db and this one was the quietest of them all. Would be loud enough at night but may not be during the day with tv on etc. To turn off after it triggers on is a long press of any button on the remote which is handy when wanting to stop the alarm but takes about 2 seconds to turn off so it’s not instant. Another one I bought had an OFF button on the remote so is instant turn off which is a better feature as at night 2 seconds to turn off with an alarm going can be annoying. Can be used indoors as it has usb charger and east to install. Just one screw into wall and hook it on the screw. Easy to remove as well. Overall happy with the purchase but if you want a really loud alarm then don’t buy this one.
