I have been feeding black oil sunflower seed in hanging feeders for years. This is the best among many feeders I have used. The only time there was a problem was last fall. During the night, a bear dug a hole under the deer fence and destroyed the feeders before morning. After that episode, we brought the feeders into the house every night until the bears had hibernated.This feeder is sturdy, easy to fill, easy to clean, windproof. I do not think, though, that it could survive a squirrel chewing at the wire. Our animals which cause feeder problems are larger than squirrels.

Great size, Easy to clean and fill. Added a screw to bottom of centre rod to keep the squirrels from twirling the base of the feeder off resulting in the feeder lying in 2 parts on the ground. Easy fix. Quick delivery. Very pleased
