Tastes delish!
Tastes great with whipped cream

Great Stuff
Chestnuts are the only nut I can eat on my low oxalates diet. I bought this after trying a 16 ounce can of vanilla flavored chestnut sauce from the same company. It was good, but too sweet for my taste. I scoup this into a bowl, add a little vanilla, a little milk and a drizzle of honey, then stir it all together. It makes a spread with just the right sweetness for my taste. I finally have something to replace the nut butters that I used to enjoy.

Could Be Sweeter
This is the only place I could find chestnut puree. It appears from other reviews that some people have attempted to eat this right out of the can, and I doubt that is the purpose of this product. I used this to make a chestnut chocolate pot, and it turned out OK, but it could have been sweeter. Good thing my friend made a ton of whipped cream to accompany it.

terrible texture, no taste
Had a catfood-like feel, weird glossiness on the outside, all compact in the can, not soft at all. The worst was it had no chestnut taste at all, after whipping it with honey & rum and passing it through a sieve it became workable but wouldn't buy this again. Expensive and tasteless, will use fresh chestnuts next time.

Loved this purée
It was perfect for making my cake. No sugar added so it’s very versatile for other dishesI will try as well.

Not exactly what I expected..
This was a big disappointment. First I guess I didn't read it carefully, I thought this was sugared, ready for vermicelli desert, but it wasn't. But then it wasn't exactly ready to add syrup to it to make the desert. It was very gritty and not very well pureed, it was also very wet. I first had to process it to make it into a finer puree, then make the sugar syrup, add the chestnuts and cook it slowly for almost an hour to dry it to the right consistency. It's a good thing I know what to do, how to make Vermicell from scratch. In the end, after way too much work, I had what I initially thought I purchased. Oh well written, live and learn. Don't know if I would buy again at the price and for so much added work.

High quality
I order this every year to make a turkey stuffing. It's kind of expensive, but well worth the cost.

great for elevating dinner
This chestnut puree is perfect for making a savory seasoned puree to schmear under a steak or scallops or any protein for a fancy dinner at home. I added thyme, salt, pepper, and a dash of cream in the mixer with this and it came out smooth and delicious.
