Netter's Anatomy Flash Cards: with Online Student Consult Access (Netter Basic Science)

I have always admired Dr. Netter's work and these flash cards are incredible. On the one side of the card you have the beautifully illustrated bones, nerves, muscles, vessels, etc., with numbers pointing to each structure that is detailed on the other side. On the back of the card you have the names of each numbered structure and a "Comment" section that includes useful information and facts about those structures (like origins, insertions, innervations, and actions). There is also a "Clinical" section that provides medical references that could be useful in, well, a clinical setting (like certain types of fractures, or abnormalities that can be seen). So useful and so much more fun than just structures alone. Lastly, all the flashcards are hole-punched so they can easily be taken out and put onto a ring for studying (one ring also comes in the box). Such a great study tool!

Love these cards! Starting graduate school soon, so I wanted to buy something that will help me brush up on my anatomy- and these do not disappoint! They're organized by category, with dividers, which is very helpful. They also have a hole punch in the corner, along with a ring, so you can take them out by section for ease of study, and not lose them or mess up the order. It comes in a very nice hard box, and the information on the cards themselves is AWESOME. I'm very pleased with this purchase and would definitely reccomend to anyone!

These flash cards are the best! They show so many different angles of things that you wouldn't necessarily get to see in a textbook. It also includes clinical notes that are helpful. My only issue was that they actually had a lot of things that were emphasized that my teacher didn't care much about, so it was a pain to sort through what was important and what wasn't. But that takes nothing away from the helpfulness of the flash cards. I also love how portable they are, so you can study anywhere which is always a plus when studying anatomy! It's a full time job.

The cards are great. Very good detail on the muscular depictions. Cranial cards have more information then you would think. BUT-these cards are not for the faint of heart or for "unserious" students. They can be somewhat daunting. After initially looking them over I groaned and almost put them up on a shelf. Planning on maybe getting to them when I could (which would mean never). But once I got started, they really are helpful. Very helpful if you're taking Human A&P 1 & 2. Main con: The only downside I've found is that the cards are arranged by body region rather then system. Perhaps thats for some medical/nursing/diagnostic/etc. courses? I don't know why. But-it's kind of a pain for the Human AP classes I'm in. Fyi if you're taking a detailed med class like gross anatomy, I'd tend to agree with other reviewers that there is not enough info on the cards. You'd probably still find them helpful but you'd also need something else. Edition update: Jsuk, I'm like some of the other older students in that I almost always buy older editions of reference materials & class books to save $$. Sooo, before ordering I looked at a friends 3rd edition to see if I preferred those. The 3rd edition is essentially the same as the 4th. Oddly, the 3rd has the name of the tissue (ie: muscle, bone, etc) is on the front of the flash card as well as the back. I have no idea why Netter's did that. My friend said it wasn't a big deal but it was kind of a pain to continually have to cover the top part of the front when testing herself. I was told that this was not the case w/ the 4th edition. That they deleted the info on the top/front of the card & only had a picture of the tissue. That is not the case. Netter's has changed (somewhat) whats on the front of the card but they still give you an awfully big heads up (ie: "Muscles of Thigh: Anterior View). This is probably not a big deal to most folks but I would have preferred less info on the front, more on the back... But, when Amazon dropped the price on this edition to under $30, that wasn't much more than the 3rd editions on Ebay so I just went ahead and ordered the 4th edition. I'm sure there are some other changes but nothing major stands out so far. The box, and some of the cards, are more colorful. Woohoo! To be completely frank, I think that you'll be happy with either edition you pickup. Probably even the 2nd edition set is very good but I haven't seen those cards. If you're willing to take a chance, the 2nd edition is incredible inexpensive on some sites. Oh, fyi for all the OCD/Anal people out there. The cards may arrive a tad bit damaged. They shift in their box so during shipment they must bang back and forth a little. The only thing "damaged" were the dividing card tabs. But they only got slightly bent, etc. Nothing important to me but my girlfriend seemed surprised and frankly a little fixated on the fact that they were clearly brand new, in shrink wrap but still less than 100%. So if it caught her attention & you are the kind of person this would bother, maybe pick them up at BAM. My final recomendation? If you have to take college or post grad level Human Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 or perhaps something less intensive but still hard (ie: Massage Therapy national boards) AND you're willing to study, BUY THESE! Whichever edition you want is fine but just go ahead and pick these up. I guarentee they will help & that they're worth the $$. Take care and good luck with your classes/program!!

This is a great way to review! Nothing replaces a detailed textbook and talented professor but being right from the Netter's textbook, this is a succinct and detailed way to practice structures. My only suggestion is that I think all cards should state the name of the blood supply to the muscle. Right now, not all do. Still, great way to practice quick rather than lugging my anatomy atlas around during the day.

THE MOST VALUABLE tool I used to study for anatomy in undergrad. It seriously was 10x more efficient than using an anatomy coloring book. Looking over slides multiple times is 100x more inefficient than this. Using this for medical school currently, it is seriously effective. Only have to add certain smaller details to Anki when I need to; otherwise, this covers 90% of details. LOVE IT.

The content on these flash cards are really in depth and a great study tool, that being said, that being said, many of the organs are overlooked, specifically the brain. Considering that 1/3 of my first lab practical will be on the brain, I am very disappointed that these note cards have basically nothing about that section of the body. There is very little discussed in major organs. The weird organization, I can live with because the cards have numbers and a ring so that you can take out what you need and then be able to put them away.

These card arrived tonight; on time as promised. However, there was no padding in the Amazon box, and so the card box is a bit beat up. Also, the bottom edge of the box has a slice along it (almost like someone wasn't careful when they sliced open the package in the warehouse to ship the order); I have applied some clear packing tape to it to repair it. We ordered these cards for our daughter who is going to be attending college in the fall. Right now she is a senior in high school, and is taking an Anatomy and Physiology class. She was having problems with the instructor's handouts not being very detailed, but yet she is expected to know all of the parts of the anatomy regardless on the condition of the learning material. When our daughter opened the Amazon box, she was thrilled to see the cards. The illustrations and labeling on the cards are very clear, and the cards themselves are large enough (4" x 6") to be seen easily (which was a concern of mine, since the listing on Amazon did not mention the size of the cards). I have included with this review pictures of the cards. Additionally with this package come free online access to StudentConsult.com for studying, and integrated between most devises. We have not tried this feature yet, but will update this review when we do. Overall this is an excellent product, that I would recommend.

High quality drawings, really helped me to ace anatomy in the first year of med school. The diagrams are well labelled and the information on the back is well presented. Highly worth the money. The loop included is really good for customizing what cards you want to take on the go
