Perfect for Colorado
I prefer this rosin to Pops. It doesn't dry out like Pops does in Colorado. You do need to keep it at least temperature controlled though, so just keep it in the bottom-front pocket of your bass case and that way it'll always stay at its best. I have left it in a separate case in the car in the past and it melted, but it was still useable once cooled. Pops rosin would always be useless if you let it melt or if it got too cold. This stuff is perfect. I play a 3/4 spruce Shen double bass with standard Thomastik strings and use a simple Brasil wood bow with salt and pepper hair. I maybe over-coated my bow the first time I used it, but lesson learned and I found my sweet spot.

Awesome Double Bass Rosin
I started out with Pops. I moved to Carlson (sp?) and settled on this. For the double bass, it works great. Those others worked in Northern Illinois but not as well in Southern Tennessee. This rosin works well even if it is hot, cold, humid, or dry. I guess the "AW" means all weather and and this works in all weather so far. I also like that it has a dubber container with a cover that sits inside the cardboard outer container to keep the rosin fresh longer.Another bass player borrowed my rosin at a rehearsal and liked it so much that he's switched to using this also.

This rosin is soft and sticky, which is what I want
I haven’t used it yet, but I have a gig coming up, and I’ll put it to the test. But I can see that this rosin is nice and soft, not hard like the rosin I was using previously. It should really stick to the bow and strings.

High quality
This rosin may be a little expensive, but it is super high quality. As a bass player, I need a really sticky and durable rosin, and this rosin is perfect. No matter what the weather is, this rosin still stays intact. It is very sticky so i would reccomend you don’t put more than 3 layers on your bow.

Better (for me) than Pops!
I grew up on Pops rosin and that one's pretty good for students, but I found that it makes my sound crunchier than I like. I ran out of Pops rosin so I decided to give Kolstein's a try and it made my tone smooth as butter! I also like that the rosin itself is contained in a little rubber canister that can roll down and up as opposed to foil that you have to tear to get to the rosin or paper that can get stuck to the rosin and rip.
