Taking this jacket out of the box I thought it was a cheap piece of junk. It seemed really thin. However, after wearing it for a week hiking in the Pacific Northwest I came to like it. Even though it is thin it is much more rubbery than a lot of rain gear I've had. It tends to stretch instead of rip. It was comfortable and it's light weight made it nice for hiking. It had plenty of room to wear layers underneath when it was cold.I do wish it had arm pit vents or a back flap with vents in. It is easy to get too warm in this jacket. I expected that but I would easily pay another $20-30 for a version with vents.

Nice
Somewhat small fit, I thought, but not too terrible. It's a very nice jacket.Genuinely waterproof (without messing around with the kind of technology that is meant to allow for "breathing" -- meaning, water won't get in and the air inside your jacket won't circulate or escape because the material doesn't breathe). So it'll get hot in a hurry if you wear it on a warm day. I mostly wore it during a trip to a rainy area during February, and the temperature stayed comfortable because it was a bit cold outside. Not a really thick jacket, which is nice. I was able to roll it up into a really right roll, so it took up a tiny amount of space when stuffed/packed in a bag. You don't have to debate too much about whether you should bother packing it. It won't take up too much space if you roll it tightly, and it's not heavy.

Rain Wear for a Cruise
Fits just a tad bit larger Excellent good looks and easy to wear. Does not fit so tight that it constricts like others.Expect this to be absolutely waterproof, not water resistant. But I will not wear it zipped up for anything but rainwear as it will get quite warm since it is not breathable. I will leave it unzipped and let it be a lightweight jacket on cool, sunny days.Bought this for cruise wear because it is lightweight and almost impossible to wrinkle.

Nice but zipper broke.
Bought last fall (Nov 18). wore during cooler seasons as winbreaker/raincoat. Worked good looked nice. A little expensive for basicly a rubber raincoat but I thought I would pay a little more up front for a quality name brand coat that would last. Put up during warm weather. When I got out this fall zipper is broken and doesn't work. Not happy now I have to buy new coat. Won't be buying this one. Also seems are no longer waterproof.

And when you show them how dry you are underneath they cant make fun of you anymore
This rain jacket is so yellow you guys. People will see you and think, "why aren't you holding a rubber ducky?" That's when you pull out a rubber ducky from your pocket and yell, "HELLY HANSON"! Mic drop. And when you show them how dry you are underneath they cant make fun of you anymore. This jacket is top notch, for real. Keep you dry and correct like all the time. If you really care about thwarting rain drops then get this jacket. Also, it has a hood tucked away in secret.

WaterPROOF
I got this for my boyfriend for his birthday. Sizing is true, he's 5'11", 170 lbs and he normally wears large and the large fit him great. He wore it when we went camping and on the day we left it was pouring rain. He packed up the whole tent and campsite in the downpour and his top half stayed completely dry. I would say it is waterproof unlike some jackets that are just water resistant.

Super functional and sleek shell
Never purchased a Helly Hansen product until now...it definitely made me realize how much I've been missing, in both quality and affordability. Ordered one of these jackets and used it as a shell for a big mountain ski trip. And I have to say! It was a solid performer, withstanding snow and subzero wind chills the entire trip.I liked it so much I bought another jacket in flashy red to take with me on boat trips in the summer and stash in my trunk for sudden downpours.Pros:Absolutely waterproof, stand-up collar with a hinged hood (allows the collar to remain standing even after u take the hood down), great wind protection, can't beat the price, colors rock!Cons:Fit is a little large...Perfect when you order a size down - Order down especially if you have an athletic build.

Hansen is a favorite in this household
Love Hansen because it is more breathable and pliable than most rainwear. I also have the pants and get good use out of both on the Oregon beaches. The arm and leg length are a little long, but easy to cuff or roll up.

Excellent
Very light and packable, yet totally waterproof, as it is constructed of thin PU. So much better than similar models in nylon, which won't keep you totally dry. Size ie perfect with enough room to wear over items of clothing, which is what you need when it rains. It might get a little sweaty inside if engaged in any exertion yet that is not an issue for me. Great price too.

Nice fabric. Quite short cut. Allows movement but not breathable at all.
I like the sexy s&m fabric but not breathable at all so gets sweaty. Downside for me is it's a very short jacket so the trousers are needed otherwise lower half will get very wet waist down in rain.Ok for now but because of short length would not buy again.

Completely waterproof and a great fit following the size guide
The jacket is a great fit and keeps me warm and dry but it is not breathable, which means it's more suitable for winter rather than milder weather. The pockets are a tight fit and can't be used when wearing anything but the thinnest of gloves.

Hoddie is small, bad design, besides that it's a killer rain jacket for some serious weather
If you have larger than average head, the hoddie will be way to small for you, you will get all the water on your face, it's 100% waterproof, but hoddie is way to small, bad design, breathability is bad, few holes in arm pits would help , update : i drilled and burned 4 small holes inside armpits and now i have less condensation problems, this jacket would be great if it would have proper size hoodie

WATERPROOF.
I’ve paid much more for allegedly ‘waterproof’ jackets which have proved to be otherwise! This £40 jacket is a real gem! It actually IS WATERPROOF!! Fabulous value for money.
