Pro grade quality
This is a pro grade tool that will last a lifetime with proper care. The shield guard is not built in - is a separate attachment - a huge benefit. If you know what you’re doing, you can use without the guard shield — which really helps get the best angle in tight spaces or difficult finishing work.Designed for the professional, so it’s high powered and not light weight.Angle grinders have more uses than many home DIYers realize due to the variety of attachments. You can not only grind metal, but you can also cut, sand, polish and more.If you have one use for it, I guarantee you’ll find more. Highly recommended.

A powerful machine
It had been a long time since I used a 9" angle grinder. I read the reviews stating that the grinder was heavy and heavy-duty. They were correct; but, this grinder did more work in an hour than my 4.5" grinder did in several hours. I did mark manueverability down to four stars because I am cutting the floor pans out of an MGB and it is not easy to get into the tight spaces. That is where the smaller grinder came in handy. I am 79-years old and no muscle person but have no trouble handling the grinder. Don't get scared off by the reviews. If you have a tough job to do, this grinder will do it.

Very powerful but, Makita sent to me missing a screen
Very powerful grinder. Makita sent it to me without one of the screens. $12.00 on amazon to order new ones.

This thing is a beast.
There's nothing else to say - don't buy this if you are a 98-lb weakling. Unless your plan is to bench press it until you can build up the strength to use it. Whatever you want ground - it will grind it. Except coffee... maybe not coffee...

Beast. Must have for tradesman
Absolute animal. Cuts 4" cast iron in seconds. With definitely trip some breakers though I recommend a power strip with the internal breaker. Only problem with 15 amp breaker and if I really dogging it. But minor use of the tool does not trip the breaker. With the concrete blade it is outstanding looking impressive. I've used as wet saw and lived to talk about it but I believe the manufacturer doesn't recommend it for obvious reosons. But it's a good addition to my plumbing truck. Now I don't know how I lived with out it.

Good work horse, noisy bearings.
A year of daily use with 7 inch hard wheels and flap wheels. I'm a heavy equipment field repair welder and it's my go to grinder. The bearings started making noise under heavy load about 6 months ago and it gets a little bit of hand numbing vibration from certain brands of hard wheels. Took the head apart and regreased it. Still makes noise but a great grinder for the cost. It has held up to dirt, a few high drops off of equipment and a couple minutes being left out in the rain on the back of my truck while i scrambled to put tools away. None of the grinders are like they were 15 years ago, but still a good grinder.

BEAST
It's a beast. It's not the right grinder for most jobs, but its nice to have when it's needed. The rotating handle is a really sweet feature for cutting. This is not a tool for the frail or unattentive.
