This shelter is perfect! Well-made, easy to set up, great quality water-proof material, high quality "mattress" and just so cozy! While out in CA visiting my niece, a sweet little kitty cat was roaming around and meowing at her door, especially at night. Belonging to my niece's landlord who lives upstairs, the cat used to be an inside cat until his "mom" made him an outdoors cat. Broke my heart. I went on Amazon and saw this! Ordered it--arrived next day! The cat took to it immediately and sleeps in it during the day and all night! I can now go back home in peace knowing he's got a safe, dry, cozy home! (The purple towel in the pic is added-I wanted him to have something to snuggle with).

This kitty house is well made enough to use in areas such as garages, covered porches, etc. Even though others have shared pics of these and other so called all weather houses, there is no way you could use this in an un-covered area without rain, snow, etc. getting in. The roof does have some sort of cardboard or something giving it a little stiffness, but it would not be strong enough to support the weight of snow and ice. The hook and loop (velcro) and roof zippers are sturdy but do not create a leak/seep proof closure. The house comes with two bed/pads. A thin one (unheated) for warm weather and a thick heated one for winter. It doesn't get very warm, but for where I used it on screen porch here in the south, it will be okay. I think it would also be fine for use in an unheated garage.

LOVE this thing! I did so much research looking for an outdoor pet house for the feral cats on my property. This one can easily fit two small cats and it has held up through snow, rain and wind. It took me about 5 minutes to set it up. I recently washed the removable pad inside and it is as good as new. I would definitely recommend this and buy this again.

Well.... I ordered this cat house for a stray that has been hanging around. Let's face it he isn't the brightest bulb on the tree but he LOVES it. It was super easy to put together and delivery time was quick.All kidding aside it really is a nice little house. It comes with two Velcro clear doors that work well. I did add a bed for more cushion but Clawed doesn't seem to need it. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a fairly cheap outdoor solution.By the way, it is under a covered front walk but even when it gets wet from our sprinkler it doesn't seem to matter.

We have an adorable stray cat who has been hanging around our house (and the rest of the neighborhood) for months. We already have 2 house cats and are reluctant to bring another inside. However, we have been feeling guilty with the weather getting colder so we purchased this heated cat house. It was easy to put together ... well, zipping the roof on took a little extra time but I got it together ... and went together quickly. The heated pad is nice and thick. We put it outside on our covered front porch and didn't have to entice her to enter. She loves it! When she comes out and we pet her, she feels nice and warm. Therefore we gave this house 5 stars.One problem we are trying to overcome. We did purchase the thermostatically controlled outlet advertised on the same page as the heated cat house in an attempt to not have to keep the electricity running constantly but only when needed. This device does not fit in our current outside covered outlet because the 3 prongs are situated so the device needs to be plugged in vertically and is longer than our box is tall. We have checked with our electrician but have not yet come up with an easy solution. Did not deduct any stars - this problem does not affect how nice the cat house is.

We have some outdoor feral cats that live in the woods behind our house - can't get near them because they are wild. We feed them every morning and evening so they don't starve (the one is starting to let us get closer and closer), but I feel so sorry for them when the weather turns cold. We put this at the edge of our woods and ran the cord w/ extension down to our house. The pad feels like it gets warm and the plastic door covers look like they will keep some heat in. I hope they discover this and keep toasty this winter. Thanks Milliard for thinking of and making this product for us animal lovers. Oh...and this was mostly easy to put together, including the zipper part on the roof. Just one suggestion for Milliard - more diagrams and better instructions on the instruction sheet.

When this arrived it looked like someone had taken a baseball bat to the box. I don’t know why most of the boxes I receive from Amazon are in such bad shape. They must have a baseball game going on at the UPS mail centers. Not good for me! The box was smashed, torn and opened at the end. I bought this for my neighbor’s outdoor cat. I am worried about how she will survive a harsh Illinois winter. She has received poor care from her masters. I noticed today that there is a rather large rectangular opening in the side towards the bottom. It’s about an inch by a half an inch in size. This must be a flaw and has let in rain. I’ve already used it so I can’t return it. I’m hoping that I can cover it with something. What I do not know. Not good especially for this price. This is rather flimsy so I’ll need to put a tarp on top of it. I guess it is something but way too expensive for the lack of quality. I believe that I could have made one that was a lot more durable and insulated better for a lot less money. Live and learn. Don’t waste your money on this!!! A wooden one would have been better. Maybe I’ll need to head out to the local lumber yard this weekend. This was an expensive mistake!

Bought to use with an outdoor cat enclosure. It didn't get in there because my cat loves it so much it has become his bed. Arrives flat and is easily put together. Only awkwardness is fitting the roof, fiddly that's all. Very sturdy. Roof is padded and there is a padded cushion at the base. Two clear door flaps which detach. Really well made and even though I sometimes open half the roof so my cat can jump in and out when playing, it has not fallen apart. The material is tough. It is light, so best not to use outdoors if there is a wind. On the whole we (my cat & I) are very pleased. Definitely recommended.

I'm sure that my cat is going to love this house, so that is the most important thing about it but there are a few negatives. The zips are a bit flimsy and fiddly,however the velcro is strong. The house has plenty of room for a cat or small dog. It has detachable see through flaps for both entry/exit doors if required. There is an extra cushion which I'm not sure what its for. I would also like to know where a new cover for the heating pad could be purchased, as this will obviously wear out eventually and will need to be washed etc.There is a hole in the bottom of the house for the electric lead on the heating pad to pass through, but the plug on the end will not pass through the hole because the hole is far too small. There is no other option but to leave it hanging out of the corner of the house through the velcro. It is a sealed unit plug,obviously for safety and cannot and should not be removed.I emailed the manufacturer with this problem to the email address provided with the product, but my email came back undelivered. I am trying to get answerers from Amazon about this.

Cover was slightly damaged (3mm cut) on arrival. Heated pad is ok indoors but negligible outside. I had to purchase other heated pads to make any difference to the outside temperature

Good but going mildew. Smells inside too.
