How long will the blades last in loamy sandy soil 10 inch deep trench before needing to be replaced?

I've used my trench badger about ten times for short trenches (10-20') and the blade tips are almost gone. The blades still work but you can tell the difference in performance as the tips wear out. The blades have bounced off a few rocks and I am sure that rocky soils have something to do with how quick the tips wear. I was most impressed with how new blades cute thru palm roots with ease within a foot of the base of large royal palms. I would suggest having a spare set of blades on your truck.

Where can new blades be purchased?

You can order blades right off the TrenchBadger website.

Can the blades be sharpened or just thrown away when they dull?

Blades can be sharpened if needed. This is typically purposeful on root-ridden soils.

Will this work in clay soils?

Yes, it will work in clay soils. But the wetter, more saturated the clay, the greater likelihood it will stick to the blades. Excess build up of wet clay on the blades will damage the drive unit.
