Learning to Lead: The Journey to Leading Yourself, Leading Others, and Leading an Organization Hardcover – May 7, 2019

This is the most practical leadership book that I've read so far with examples. Thanks for the takeaway in each chapter!

Ron Williams has written a highly readable book with telling details from his life (from working at a car wash to CEO of Aetna!) along with insightful anecdotes from his business career all mixed together with well-considered, thoughtful advice. At the heart of the book is a voice that calls for calm, thoughtful approaches to any business challenge; to restraint along with determined pursuit of the reality on the ground. The author presents a solid outline of effective leadership principles and strategies by reflected on challenges that he encountered during his career. While he has a background in healthcare, his advice can be applied to any sector.

Gave to my daughter as a grad gift upon receiving her masters degree. The author was on Squawk Box morning financial show, I was very impressed by him. My daughter hasn’t started reading the book yet but once she’s done I get it next.

Great little book that summarizes very well what I have been trying to do for my organization. It was great to read about issues at various levels and turning things around for a big business.

I learned something on almost every page. I think anyone can learn something from this book and use it as a tool at any point in their career.

This is a life journey story. I was hoping for something more technical. Nice story, tho.

I needed to review a book on leadership for my MSc but I'm so glad I chose this one. An inspirational story by someone who didn't fit in to the traditional mould of what a leader should be. Ron shared valuable lessons that he learned along the way using great examples and including take away messages to recap at the end of every chapter. This is a book I can pick up again and again to remind myself of some of the strategies that are effective, which can see results across many different sectors.
