Rods make lampwork beads
They are perfectly straight. Roll smoothe. My old ones were a bit misshapen. From when a bead will not come and yanking can bend it which visually you can't see it but making a bead is harder. Then occasionally I would be working half an hour and the bead is hard to get because the metal dose eventually bend from heat at the tip. I already used them a few times.

Resist flexibility
These are standard stainless steel mandrels and although they resist flexibility they will bend with enough force. I have had thinner mandrels but they bent fairly easily. I have also had to replace these types of mandrels also because the older ones had bent so much that I could no longer use them. I had purchased so many of these mandrels due to bending that I went to a thicker mandrel. If you have an annealing unit where you place your beads, you shouldn't have a problem getting the beads off the mandrel, but if you use just a thermal blanket to let the beads cool in then the beads are a little harder to get off the mandrel.
