Best Value Gaming Laptop of 2019!
The ASUS GA502 packs plenty of power for its value-oriented price point of the usual $1,249 you see it for around the market, now I got it for only $913 and I couldn't be any happier with my purchase!Pros:- Amazing battery life for a gaming laptop (6-8hrs)- A great keyboard (Good key travel and brightness)- Okay speakers (down-firing like most)- 120hz Display- Consistent performance and cooling (idle 45C-53C, load 67C-71C) *using liquid metal paste*Cons:- The display is only 215nits of brightness and 63% Adobe SRGB however for gaming/media it's no problem- No Thunderbolt 3 (not unusual at this price but it still is a downside)- ASUS bundles a lot of software- Additional SSD M.2 slot is 2x2 meaning no support for top-end bandwidth- The wireless card is Realtek and is complete trash and needs replacement (they had to save money somewhere I suppose)_____________________________________________________________________________________________________Overall I think this a well thought out machine for its price and I'm glad I made the purchase, biggest flaw is the wireless card is simply lacking and only delivers up to 3.5MB/s down and 8MB/s up in my tests while using gigabit ethernet I am able to achieve my 496MB/s down and 53MB/s up I'd expect from my ISP. I'd recommend purchasing a replacement wifi card, one can be found for around $35 that supports WiFi 6 from Killer and Intel respectively. The display brightness is something I can deal with because I made this purchase for gaming, not to do photo/video editing, so if that's your position then I'd look elsewhere for a brighter more color-accurate display.

Solid gaming laptop option with a low-profile look, but you'll need a headphone when gaming!
I don't play much triple-A titles anymore, so currently got Minecraft, Skyrim: SE, and Overwatch installed. All 3 games ran perfectly fine at their native 1080p resolution with max settings, and it's definitely hitting 60+ fps easily. If playing Minecraft, the laptop remains relatively quiet. The other two games on the other hand, can get this laptop pretty toasty and loud. As I anticipated that it'll be noisy due to its thinner body, I invested in a laptop cooler, which does help a little on the temperatures, but the loud fans are still prevalent - which is why I also have an over the ear headphones ready, and for the most part it blocks the fan noise out. Don't plan on gaming on the go with this (unless it's mostly a light game like Minecraft), as these laptop fans will definitely let people around you not enjoy your presence. The screen, shouldn't be a huge deal breaker if mostly gaming, but the colors just aren't as punchy compared to similarly priced laptops. The high refresh rate though is a huge plus, it provides a noticeable smoother gaming experience especially when playing Overwatch! Although there's no G-Sync, I can hardly see any tearing or stutters. It's a great notebook to carry around, battery life is more than adequate. I was able to achieve around 5+ hours or so with light web browsing, watching some movies, and a little bit of Minecraft. Unfortunately this does not have USB-C power charging capability, so you'll need to lug its power brick adapter, but at least it's not too big of an adapter, around a thick battery cased smartphone size.All-in-all, I got what I wanted. Excellent gaming performance on the games I play, great battery life on-the-go, and it's fun when people around me ask what laptop this is, as they say it looks really nice! If I have to complain, it's simply its fan noise while gaming, but then again, I completely understand due to its slim chassis constraint... oh, and I'm not a fan of the red power LED button that needs to be fixed on the next version!

Constantly overheats
Purchased this for my son in college for computer science. All of his work is in this computer. He is in his third year, with one year left to go, home on vacation. He opens it today and it completely blacked out. We let it rest for a while and it will not come on. After inspection, the battery completely died. I spent the full price on this and there is no warranty that lasted this long. I see the price has been slashed. And now, I see the other horrible reviews. I feel so bad for him.

Excellent price quality ratio
A few weeks ago I got the Asus ROG Zephyrus GA502 Pc. I am really delighted with its design, overall in terms of the screen and its features. In fact, the lights and presentation of colours, together with its frequencies make this computer the most suitable option for gaming purposes.Nonetheless, the computer has heat and sound issues. On one hand, regarding to the sound, the speakers are in the down part of it what lows its quality and makes its sound less enjoyable. On the other hand, an unexpected issue was that after not long playing on it, the pc heats to a temperature almost unbearable for the user. It is recommendable using it only in still and hard surfaces, this reduces a little the heat, although it is significantly hot still. In conclusion, the Asus ROG Zephyrus GA502 is a pc with the good image quality that is expected on a gamer pc. Nevertheless, it has disappointing details regarding to its heat control and sound settings.

Performs decently but squeals like mad
I hadn't bought a gaming laptop in 10 years but decided to give it another try. The first thing I noticed is the coil whine. I've never heard worse coil whine in my life. I literally can't have this laptop on when I sleep or watch TV -- it's that loud and piercing. Otherwise, as per usual, it required a lot of tuning and removing of stupid features/programs out of the box. Annoying to have to do, but that's the way it's always been. Lastly, it does pretty well with Rocket League (the only game I've played on it so far) and I've seen solid frame output (120+ on lower settings) for the most part, though I've noticed it does slow down noticeably at times.TL;DR: Meets expectations but may return due to how noisy it is (the fan noise is fine/expected, the coil whine is hellishly loud)
