Deceptive promo
I received the item mounted on an ugly plastic base. The base can be removed, but the screw heads are located at the bottom of a 3/8” deep cylinder. It takes a miniature Phillips head screwdriver to get the job done without damaging the truck. The product description does say the base is removeable. Nice touch The undercarriage of the truck is molded plastic. Four screw retaining posts are integral parts of that molding. The stubs are still visible when the base is removed. However, the picture displayed on the Amazon product site does not show these posts. Apparently, they have been airbrushed out. This is a blatant act of deception. The presence of the mounting posts detracts from the authenticity of the piece. That’s not something a child might notice, but it’s not designed for children While the piece could make an attractive occasional (Xmas, electric train set-up, etc.) display, it is not a collector’s item. It has no value other than the market value established by the manufacturer/seller. I’ll keep the piece because it’s not worth jumping on the ship-evaluate-return-reship-reevaluate merry-go-round. I’m a little ticked off about the misrepresentations. But I’ll just dump this experience into the cheap Chinese junk psycho-puka and move on. Two stars because I’m still part Christian. Darn!
